So finally they are here! Our Pink-litter who will be be named after Pink-songs. And actually a few days earlier than what I expected. On Wednesday evening Tiya had less apetite than normal and during the night the openingphase started with heavy breathing, bedding and so on. We got some rest and spend the night on the couch and in the puppypool. During the morning her temperature dropped a bit and just before lunch she started to have contractions. So here are the delivery as it went on!

Tiya is amazing at this. She pushes out a puppy with what looks like not to much effort. She cleans it and cares for it and when it is saticfied feeding she rests and powernaps until her contractions starts back again and then she does it over again. 
I always assist my bitches at birth but I know she would have managed on her own. She keeps an eye on each puppy wanting them near her.
So overall a very schoolbookexample of a delivery without any complications. So happy that she was able to deliver all 15 puppies without help and that they were all alive and strong!

Yesterday we had some nice sunny weather so I took my camera with me on our lunchwalk. The dogs got to go without their wintercoats. Tiya can still fit in hers but not by much! It barely reaches around her belly!
She has been doing well today, but this evening she was not interested in her dinner. With some extra wet food she did eat a little but you can see a change in her behaviour. Heavier breathing, moving around a bit to different places to sleep. She actually managed to get under the cover of the dogbed earlier tonight. She is on day 58 today so we will see how long she can keep these puppies inside. Let's see if we get to meet them even before the weekend!

We just put her on the scale (we have a dogscale here for our smaller farmanimals) and she weighed 59 kg! That means she has gained 17,5 kg since the beginning of her pregnancy!
I usually count 1 kg gained weight per puppy, so this will be interesting. Will there be more than 15 puppies, will they be very big, is it the heavy milkbar or something else? She has not gotten swollen legs, some of my bitches has gotten that in the end and as soon as the puppies are out it has disappered. But no extra weight in the legs by the looks of it for Tiya. Just an enormous belly. 
Her last litter with 15 puppies she had gained 12 kg on day 60, so then a bit less than 1 kg/puppy. Maybe just more weight because it is the second time, soon we will know! Keep her in your thoughts, she has a tough few days ahead of her. 

Finally the countdown can start! Tomorrow we have only one week left to the official duedate at 63 days. I am not sure if Tiya will be able to hold them in for so long, so we will be prepared and ready for them a few days early. 
Some pictures of beautiful and big mum to be. She is heavy now... will try to put her on the scale by the end of the week to see how much she has gained. I usually count about +1 kg per each pup at the end of the pregnancy. So that would mean about 15 kg up if I have counted correctly on the X-ray. Last litter I think she gained a little bit less than 1 kg/pup.

Today Tiya is on day 50 of her pregnancy and I took her to my work where we did X-rays of her huge puppybelly. She has gained 10 kg already, and she has almost two weeks left to go.
It was hard to get really good X-rays because the puppies are really filling up her whole abdomen. From hips all the way close to her lungs. So we could not get all puppies into one picture, we had to take on further back and one further forward to not miss anyone. The puppies do move so it is not a 100 % sure to count them like this, and some are not as clear to see because of intestines and other organs hiding them a little. But I think I am seeing up to 15 puppies. Last time she had 15 (one stillborn) so we will see. She is at least very fertile for sure!

Tiya is tomorrow on day 49 which means seven full weeks has gone by and we only have two weeks left. This week will start to prepare her puppypool so she can get comfortable in it. 
I have attached a comparison below of her belly at about the same day from this pregnancy aswell as her first pregnancy with the Oasis-litter. She has 15 puppies in her belly that time, so I really wonder how many she has now! 
On Tuesday or Wednesday I will do and X-ray of her and hopefully will be able to count how many puppies she has in there. So more updates in a few days!

Day 44 of Tiya's pregnancy and we got to enjoy some sunshine. Of course I had to take some new photos of her gorgeous growing belly. She has been playing a little bit more the last few days during our walks but still not the way she normally does. When we are indoors she mostly looks like in the last picture below. Very relaxed on the couch!
I have pretty much decided to not bring her to work for a full work day and then do the X-ray. I will instead just go one of my days off so she does not have to stay there all day. So will see what day it will work out to go next week, Tuesday or Wednesday. Keep checking back for more updates!

Tiya is today on day 41 which means counting from tomorrow she only has three more weeks to go. It is hard to guess how many puppies she is carrying. I think her belly is as big as it was one week later in her previous litter. That time she had 15 puppies... So could it be that many again? Or is she just bigger earlier because has carried a litter before and her abdominalmuscles aren't as strong? I will make an X-ray of her belly either next Monday day 49 or on Thursday on day 52. Then we will hopefully be able to count how many they are and what we have to expect!
Today she has been playing a bit during our walk but she does rest and sleep most of the time during the days. Veeeeery hungry all the time so a little bit more food now and some left overs of course.

Tiya was on day 38 yesterday and I got some photos of her belly. It has grown a lot now and I wonder how big it will be by the end of the pregnancy! She has gotten her apetite back and is very hungry, so she is now getting served lunch aswell. Despite this she does not think she gets enough... the other day she stole and ate bananas, grapes and chicken from the kitchen... 
She is playing a little bit still in the woods but not at all as much as she usually does. She walks more on the path than offroad now.

Tiya is today on day 33, on Monday she has done 35 days which means five weeks since her insemination and four weeks left to her due date. It was cold outside today despite the sunshine but it will be even colder tomorrow so took some photos today instead.
You can see how her belly is growing each week when you compare them next to each other. She is feeling ok. She had a hard week with some nausia and lack of apetite. But she enjoyed some wet food and dogtreat so we got her to eat. She is now back to eating better again.
