2013

Today Yaya's gorgeous kids from the Canada-litter is celebrating their 3rd Birthday!
I remember the birth of these little wonders like it was yesterday!
I hope all of you will have a wonderful day and get spoiled with lots of gifts and love! I am sending some extra thoughts today to our little angels Tibor, Balder and Mr Darkgreen, wish you would have been here still.
Love you all!

Last Sunday I drove to Vagnhärad for some bloodtracking with Mira. We haven't tracked since her last openclass but this girl knows what to do. Judging her today was Eva Brenkle Hangren from the Dachshoundclub. I have for some reason always been afraid of the judges from the Dachshoundclub, some of them are a bit narrow in how they thing a dog should work in the woods. Ridgebacks don't normally track like Dachshounds but this judge didn't care about that, she just saw how well Mira works and gets herself trough the difficult parts with energy and focus. So sweet Mira got her 5th straight 1st prize in openclass! Very proud of this young talented girl.

Today "Nixon" from the Fire-litter (Enya x Leo) entered a puppyshow in Moheda. I was in the neighbourhood for once driving back home to Stockholm. Of course I had to take the time to drive by to see him and his owner Petra. I have only seen them once before after Nixon moved away at 8 weeks so it was wonderful to see them both again.
Tomorrow the Fire-litter turns 5 months old, time is flying! Nixon was my pick of the litter that I placed with Petra who I know is giving him the best possible home and future.
Today he really showed what a gorgeous young boy he is! He started with winning Best of Breed puppy (age 4-6 months) and also won Best in Group. After a very long day and long wait he still showed off and went all the way to BIS-3!!! Huge congratulations to you Petra! What a team!

His critique from judge Johan Hjertberg (BOB and BIG, BIS was judged by Christina Bjerstedt-Olsson):
"Valp av utmärkt kvalité. Mycket bra huvud och uttryck. Underbar hals. Härlig överlinje, mycket bra kors. Välutvecklad för åldern. Tillräckligt förbröst och bröstdjup. Mycket välvinklad fram och bak. Mycket lovande valp."

Today it was time for the last dogshow of the year. I had none of my own dogs entered but six of my breedings.
I started off showing Kadamo Devil in Disguise "Isidor" for the very first time in Juniorclass. He wasn't that excited about showing today but still behaved nicely. He revieced Very Good and no placement, the judge liked his apperence but thought he was to big for his age.
In intermediateclass brothers BISS-13 Kadamo Johnny Walker "Loke" and SEJW-12 Kadamo Rob Roy "Dexter" were both shown. They behaved well too, Loke today showed for the first time by Elin. Unfortunately he was also way to big for this judge taste even though he got a nice critique in gerenal, so today he only recieved Good.
Dexter on the other hand was one out of the only two in the class who recieved Excellent and he placed nicely second.
After the boys I showed SEVCH Kadamo Fire in the Sky "Kayla" in workingclass were also SEVCH Kadamo An Angel in Abbey "Indra" was shown. Indra was most of all my dogs this judges type, smaller in size so she recieved Excellent and won the class with CQ! Kayla was as I aspected to big and muscular for this judge so a Very Good for her today, but as the others, a very nice critique overall.
In Championclass SEUCH FINCH SEVCH Kadamo Thinking of Tilley "Tilly" was shown and placed as 3rd with Excellent and CQ.
Indra made it all the way to 5th Best Bitch and the best placement for Kadamo today! Congratulations Jenni and the rest of you!
Thank you for a great day!
Below are some photos of the dogs from today. At the end also a few photos of Moa's mother Isola (CH Rex Ventors Isola) who was shown in veteranclass today age 10 years and 4 months, winning Best Veteran. Nice to see you and Isola back in the ring again Anna!

My gorgeous  young Fire-puppies are now little over 4 months old and today we had a little gettogether to let them all play and meet mum Enya again.
I haven't seen some of them for several weeks so it was wonderful to meet them again, and see how well they are all developing!
I am so pleased with this litter, just gorgeous puppies! I had rented an indoor dogarena for us so we were able to do some showtraining and take new photos of them all.
We missed three of the puppies who couldn't be there today, hope to see you all next time!
Thanks to the rest of you for coming today!

Today I had a little Birthdayparty walk  in Vinterviken for the Elvis-litter who turned 1 year old last Friday. They are eight in the litter and five were able to come. Of course our Czech boy Kadamo It's Now or Never "Elvis" couldn't be here, and today not his brother Kadamo Big Boss Man "Bosse" and sister Kadamo All Shook Up "Jackie" who we missed.
But the rest of the siblings had a good day with a lot of playing and of course a little photosession. After two hours outside in the cold we enjoyed some hot chocolate and sandwishes indoors.
Thank you all for a great day and see you again soon!

Mira and her siblings celebrated their first Birthday today. For the very first time I have one of my own "puppies" at home. It has been a wonderful year in many ways, and I have many new experiences and memories.
Keeping a puppy is special, and the bond I have with Mira is if possible even stronger than with my other dogs.
We have been together everyday since the day that she was born. She has been raised by her mother Moa and halfsister Yaya, and I haven't had to do as much and as big of a job with her as with the others, they have done it for me.
My other dogs has always been very attached and depending on me, but Mira is almost attached to my hip, in both good and bad meaning.
She is a curious girl but also very depending on me, and gets very sad when I leave her, even if it is just for a minute!
Of course it is a wonderful feeling to have a dog that loves you almost more than life!

Mira and I have had a good year together. It started to her being shown in Puppyclass 9 times, below you can see how she placed at all those shows. But our highlights are most definetely being placed as BIS-1 Puppy at the International Show in Vänersborg under judge Ewa Nielsen, Sweden, and at the same time qualifing for Puppy of the Year 2013. The same weekend we had our second big highlight which was winning BISS Puppy at the SRRS Västras Ridgeback Speciality Show in Herrljunga judged by Mr Clayton Heathcock, USA.
Not many weeks after that she placed as BPISS-13 at the huge Ridgeback Speciality Show in Höör judged by Mr Richard van Aken, South Africa.
When Mira became 9 months old we stepped out of the showrings to let her grow up and focused on our bloodtracking and rallyobedience.
Mira showed true talent in both fields and with minimum competitions she gained her Rally-O Noviceclass Diploma and her Swedish Bloodtracking Championtitle.

I look forward to 2014 and what that year will have in store for us. Hopefully many fun things and some successful competitions too!

Happy Birthday to my precious girl Mira (SEVCH RLDN BPISS-12 Kadamo Bringin' It Back) and to all your siblings in the Elvis-litter on your very first Birthday today!
I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. It was a long and eventful thing with a little hickup and a very sad loss of our last baby boy.
But still I am and I was so happy with the gorgeous 8 puppies I got! (Read the entry from the delivery one year ago here: http://www.kadamo.se/2012/11/23/kadamos-elvis-litter-is-born!-13526721
I
hope you all get spoiled with presents today! Me and Mum Moa is sending you a bunch of kisses, love you all!

Today I drove to Strängnäs and met with judge Gunnar Gustafsson to let Mira do some work again. She got to start in openclass and the judge told us it was a difficult track... It had rained a lot yesterday and last night when he had laid the track and he only use 2 dl of blood for the whole 600 m track. The track was almost 25 hrs old.
Mira tracked well, I could tell a difference in her behaviour that she had to work hard, and she did all the way. Absolutely gunshotproof, 21 minutes and her fourth 1st prize in a row!
Judge comments in Swedish:
"En mycket spårvan hund. Klarar spåret utmärkt, lugnt och stabilt. Skottfast."

It is with great sadness I have to let you know that SEVCH Kadamo Bad Boy "Leo" has been put to sleep. This summer he started limping on one of his forelegs and after being looked at by a vet they suspected osteosarcoma. They did a biopsy but it came back negative. We were so happy and he got treatment for the pain and inflammation and was doing ok for a while. But now, a couple of months later the swelling around his wrist increased and so did the pain.
After more check ups by the vet the suspious was strong that this was, despite the testresult, osteosarcoma. After getting worse and worse quickly his owner Jennie had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep.
I got to see him Monday evening and say goodbye, which was extremely difficult, but I am still glad I got to do this. It is very hard to see one of my "babies" in so much pain, he was only 3 ½ years old and he shouldn't be leaving us for many more years, and definetely not before his parents.
Leo was from my Beatles-litter (Moa x Wilson) so he and his siblings is extra special to both me and my sister Johanna (Wilson's owner), since this was both Moa and Wilson's very first litter.
I have tried to find information about osteosarcoma, and nothing says that this is inherited. Large breed dogs seems to have it more often than small, but that is it. I truly hope that no one else from my breeding will ever get this...
My thoughts are with Leo's owner Jennie in this difficult time, I know not only her, but many of us will miss this wonderful, happy and easy going boy. He reminded me so much of Dando, so sweet and kind with that special glimps in his eyes. He will be truly missed!
I know I will never forget him and he will always have a special place in my heart. Love you always and forever Leo!

Loosing dogs that are close to me always makes me think of the day that I will have to say goodbye to this boy, and neither one of us is ready for that yet!
I really hope he will stay in the good shape that he is in for many more years! Below are some photos of my prince taken today! Enjoy!

Today Mira and I went to Hölö-Mörkö BK outside Södertälje for our second competition in Rallyobedience, Noviceclass. This was her third start, last Saturday she had two starts the same day.
We had number 35 out of 40 dogs so a long wait until it was finally our turn. Mira did a good job I think, of course a few minor faults but nothing that caused us a lot of points.
So we finished with 90 points out of 100 and our third qualifing result in a row, giving Mira the title RLDN, Rallyobedience Diploma Noviceclass. She got this title in just one week and only 10 ½ months old. Saying that I was proud is an understatement!
She has gained two titles in two weeks and both before her first birthday! Now I look forward to spring and to start working for our next goals! Love you Mira!
Mira's complete namn now is SEVCH RLDN BPISS-13 Kadamo Bringin' It Back! Below you can see a video from todays competition! Enjoy!

Today it was time for Mira's and my third start in openclass bloodtracking. For the first time we met with judge Göran Ädel who lives only about 15 minutes away from me, don't know why we haven't been there before?!
Mira and me was first out. Mira tracked easily in a good calm speed, never left the track and didn't react at all to the gunshot. So in 14 minutes she had found her hoof and the judge told us he was very pleased with her performance and gave her a 1st prize. This made her a Champion! She is only 10 ½ months old and passed her aptitudetest just 2 weeks ago!
So proud! After us it was time for Mira's halfbrother from the Drinks-litter Kadamo Jack Daniels "Zimba" and his owner Alex. This was Zimba's second openclasstrack and he did a good job and he also recieved a 1st prize. Just one more to go for this boys first title!
Today again I helped Jennie with Kadamo Fire in the Sky "Kayla" who started her third openclass, and of course, workingmachine Kayla did wonderful and finished her track in 12 minutes with her third 1st prize and she also became Swedish Bloodtracking Champion today!

So proud of these talented dogs and very happy that their owners take the time to activate and and compete with them. The dogs truly love tracking and I am so happy that it shows in these wonderful results!
After tracking I met up with Mira's brother from the Elvis-litter, Kadamo Devil in Disguise "Isidor" for some playtime. He is the biggest boy in the litter, but oh so handsome!
Thank each and everyone of you for a great and successful day!

Early this morning I packed all my things and the dogs and said goodbye to our cabin in Kläppen were I have been since Tuesday evening. Me and the dogs have enjoyed some great days hiking in the mountains, I promise I will share the photos with you as soon as I have gone trough them.
But back to today!
I drove to Dala-Floda where I had entered Mira in her first two Rallyobedience competitions. Dogs has to be 10 months to compete and Mira is today 10 months and 1 week old! She is without a doubt the youngest dog I have ever competed with and most likely she was one if not the youngest dog at todays competition, so my expectations wasn't too high.
She is very good and obedient but not used to practise in an environment with so many dogs and people, so I saw today as a good practice for the future.
But Mira exceeded all my expectations! Her first entry went well, she put her nose down smelling the signs or ground a few times but other than that no big faults. This gave her a total score of 93 points out of 100! Everything above 70 points is needed to pass, so she was well over! Happy!
Her next start was for another judge and a little bit more difficult, but she did well again. Less smelling, though a bit tired so a little bit slower but still good. Unbelievably she scored 98 points (!!!) out of 100 which also took her all the way to a 3rd place out of 56 entered dogs!
My little young princess making it to the top among all those obedient and talented dogs!
I would lie if I said that I am not over the moon happy about this!
Mira is already at this very young age proving to be a wonderful and versatile workingdog, just what my goal is in breeding! So I must have succeeded!
Mira now only needs one more competition with a result above 70 points to get the RLDN title (Rallyobedience Noviceclass Diploma). I truly hope she can get that before winter comes so we can start practising for Graduateclass in the spring!
I have no dogshows planned for her this fall, we are keeping busy with bloodtracking and obedience for now instead!

Below you can see videos from today. The first one is from her very first run where she scored 93 points and the one below that is the second run where she got 98 points.

On Tuesday morning I made a stop in Odensala on my way to Kläppen. I am spending the week out hiking with the dogs, but before that it was time for Mira to start in openclass bloodtracking for the first time.
This time we met judge Tommy Wallén. Mira has just improved so much  lately and I wanted to see if she could mangage an openclass track, ans she did! She tracked in only 16 minutes which is her fastest track so far. She didn't react to the gunshoot what so ever, which she has never heard close like this before.
So proud of my young girl, who recieved a 1st prize at her first attempt, and she is still just 10 months old!

A couple of days ago I brought my camera along for one of our daily walks in the woods. The dogs got to pose for some photos in the lovely surroundings, that is now starting to change colour. I love taking photos of ridgebacks this time of year, the look so good in the leafs.
Dando is now 10 years and 3 months old, Moa is 7 years and 2 months, Yaya 5 years 4 months and little Mira 10 months old.
I also took some photos of Wilson (MultiCh Roseridge Red Rastaban) who is the sire of my B-litter and the grandsire of the F-litter.

I have updated the Puppy Diary with last photos of the whole Fire-gang before they started to move to their new homes. All puppies but one has moved out this weekend, and the last one I only get to keep until Tuesday. Feels very empty at home now!

Today we woke up to grey and rainy weather... But it didn't matter, we had a busy day ahead of us which the rain could not stop.
I packed all the puppies and Mira into the car and headed towards Odensala and Märsta. Our first stop was meeting Jennie with Kayla (Kadamo Fire in the Sky) and bloodtracking judge Ingvar Jansson.
Mira and I was starting in the aptitudetest, and she passed it! She did a good job, got a little bit disturbed and lost focused a couple of times, but other than that loosing us some time she worked very well.
Kayla and Jennie started in Openclass for the very first time and Kayla the natural talent did wonderful and recieved a 1st prize! Only needs two more for her Championtitle!

After this I drove to the vetclinic were I work extra and it was time for all the puppies to have their healthcheck, vaccination and ID-chip. All puppies behaved so well and had a blast running around. Unfortunately I had forgotten to charge my camera battery so no pictures...
All 10 puppies were healthy, NO kinked tails, NO bitefaults, NO DS, ALL boys has both testicles. No other faults! SOOOO happy and proud of this litter!

This weekend they all move to their new homes, except Mr Yellow who stays a couple of days extra. It will be so empty here when they are all gone... Mira will be so sad, she has absolutely LOVED playing with them.
I have mixed feelings about them leaving, as always. They are more demanding now and needs a lot more attention than I can give them in this small space, but at the same time they are so sweet and cuddly when they are tired, and then I just feel like keeping them all!

This past weekend a bunch of Kadamo dogs were out showing off in the rings. On Saturday it was the Ridgeback Speciality Show at Almare Stäket and on Sunday a National show at Solvalla.
On Saturday  at Stäket Mr Arne Foss, Norway was juding the breed. "Bellman" Kadamo You're the Boss made his official debut in juniorclass only just 9 months old, placing VG-4, a young boy that needs a lot more time to develop.
In Intermediateclass "Dexter" SEJW-12  Kadamo Rob Roy recieved VG and if I remember correctly just outside placement?
In Championclass we had "Charlie" SEUCH SEVCH Kadamo Don't mess with Texas who recieved Exc but no placement.
Best placement today went to "Indra" SEVCH Kadamo An Angel in Abbey who won the Workingclass with Exc, unfortunately no CQ. Her sister "Tilly" SEUCH FINCH SEVCH Kadamo Thinking of Tilley recieved Exc and CQ but outside placement.

On Sunday some of them was shown again, first out "Dexter" placing Exc-2 with CQ! "Indra" did good again placing Exc-3 and sister "Tilly" was Exc-2 in Championclass and finished 2nd Best Bitch!
Congrats to all of you! So proud of everyone!

Today it was time for me to enter the rallyobediencefield again. I haven't competed since I think August last year. Moa and Dando finished their RDLF titles then (Rallyobedience Diploma Graduateclass). Yaya was entered to two competitions in Graduateclass last year and passed both times. But then the fall came and Moa gave birth to the Elvis-litter and there just wasn't time to compete. This year has been filled with shows during a lot of weekends but now, that is about to change!
Today it was time for Yaya's third competition in graduateclass, first this year. I had also entered Dando just for fun, since he already has the title.
The competion was arranged by SRRS Sthlm who had a Ridgeback Speciality Show at the same place. So I could cheer for some Kadamo dogs showing while waiting to compete myself, since I wasn't showing any dogs today.
In rallyobedience Noviceclass "Lotus" SEVCH Kadamo All You Need is Love (Moa x Wilson) made his debute, unfortunetaly in pooring rain. Him and his owner Lillemor did an amazing job, and if the rain hadn't distracted he would have made it to a higher score. Today he recieved 61 points and the limit is 70 points. Good luck for next time!
Yaya and I started as number 1 in our class. She felt really happy and good today, so my bad nerves were slightly better when we entered the field than they had been up until then.
Yaya did a great job, a few mistakes with out communication but still a good run. After a short wait it was time for Dando and I and as always, he was happy and excited. That boy does anything for a treat!
We had a couple of big mistakes were he misunderstood me but he makes everything just look charming, so who cares?!
Time to get our scores, and Dando managed to pass with 79 points. Yaya made it to 94 points and her new title RLDF! So happy! Time to really start practice for Advancedclass...

Below are a video of Yaya's run and of Dando's. Beneath that are some photos from today and also a few photos from about one week ago when I was practising with all the dogs. Enjoy!

The Winner 2013- SEVCH Kadamo Heart Stopper "Souki" with her owners Marcus and Elin

Yesterday it was time for Kadamo Championship in Bloodtracking for the fourth year in a row. We were a big bunch of people and 12 competing dogs that met up in Årsunda outside of Sandviken on Sunday morning.
Every year we have had great weather, this year almost too good! Blue skies, sunny and warm and a bit dry in the grounds. A little bit hard conditions for the dogs but lovely for us people!
We had four judges today all judging three dogs each. After all dogs had completed their tracks we gathered for lunch in the woods waiting to hear the results of the day.
We had two dogs doing their aptitudetest, Erik's male "Kiwi" and Moa's son "Attila" from the Elvis-litter, who was just 9 months and 3 days old this day. Both boys passed!
The rest of the  ten dogs were competing in Openclass. I had not planned to track with any one of my dogs this year, but due to a last minute cancellation Yaya got to go tracking anyway. And I am happy that she did, she was amazing.
Yaya is the best trackingdog of my four dogs, she just stays so focused and is so easy to read, and never get lost, keeping good speed the whole track. So proud of her!
8 out of 10 dogs recieved 1st prize and the other 2 recieved 2nd prize. A good result from a great day!
