Today the puppies got to come outside for a little while. It was a bit cold and windy so we did not stay out for long. It was still nice to let them explore a little of our garden. Hope we soon get warmer temperatures and lots of sunny days so we can be outside more.

Today SEVCH RLDN Kadamo Live Life Like Timon "Nacho" from the Lion King-litter and his owner Linda competed twice in Rallyobedience Noviceclass with two qualifying results. They already had one and you need a total of three for the title RLDN which they got today! Big congratulations, I know how much you have worked for this title, so it is very well deserved!

Today I went to the dogshow in Västerås, judge Laurent Heinesche, LU. First I showed SEJW-22 SEW-22 Kadamo Can Y' See It Now "Leo" who won the juniorclass with EXC and CQ. Only him and the openclass winner got CQ and got to compete in Best Male. Leo finished 2nd with R-CAC.
After that is was time for his pretty sisters to enter juniorclass. Malin showed her girl SEJW-22 SEW-22 Kadamo Force of Nature "Penny", I showed Kadamo Keep The Dream Alive "Nada" and Mariah showed her Kadamo Won't Let You Down "Rita". They all recieved VG from the judge, wanting them to mature... Well they are in juniorclass? He was not great with the dogs so they did not have the best experience either, so not to happy about our day except for Leo.
They placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the class (only 1 EXC given).
In intermediate I showed SEVCH Kadamo Stanza "Nova" who also got VG but with a better critique. She ended up 2nd in the class, so only 1 EXC there too.

New individual photos of the puppies now 3 weeks old in the Puppy Diary.

The puppies are three weeks old today and yesterday they got to move out of their puppypool and into their own room. They have adjusted well and today was also a busy day. They all got their individual photos taken again and was weighed in. They were also checked again for dermoid sinus and still none found. 
In the Puppy Diary you can find mixed photos taken yesterday of them 20 days old. The individual photos will come soon.

Some thoughts about my breeding. I have now been breeding rhodesian ridgebacks for 14 years and I have my 16th litter at home at the moment. I always have vision in my head of what I think a sound ridgeback should look like, both for function and for the showring. And depending on the dog you have to start off with the road to the goal might differ.
As we all do, I look for a type that attracts me, but choosing studdogs and bitches are so much more than looks. It is personality, health, temperament and qualities I want to strengthen in our breed.
This means some dogs are selected as good matches, and with some you have to accept that they are not good enough.
But now here I am, with my Oasis-litter now a bit over 1 year old, where I am the owner of both studdog and dame, and owner and/or breeder of grandparents, and great grandparent. I can see how the choices I have made in what studdog to buy and use in my breeding has really brought my own lines qualities that I needed to improve.

Her mother is my SEVCH Kadamo Comin' Home "Tiya" (also mother to my current litter). Her sire is a male I bought to match Tiya and he sure did, SEUCH FINCH NUCH SEVCH Ave Caesar Diamond Jewel of Rubi "Maddox".
Tiya's mother is my CIB SEUCH FINUCH NUCH DKUCH ESTCH SEVCH RLDN RLDF LP1 BPISS-13 Kadamo Bringin' it Back "Mira". Tiya's sire I bought to match Mira, and I think he also really did that, SEUCH FINCH NOUCH SEVCH NOJW-17 NORDJW-17 FINJW-17 HEJW-17 HEW-17 Amatonga's Golden Boy to Kadamo "Colin".

SEVW-14 DKVW-16 NORDVW-16 Hamnuddens Fischer CV "Moa". Mira's sire was also my bitch Yaya's sire, and used through frozen semen, AUST CH BISS BIS RUBISS Lionsbane Hes the Boss "Kimba".
Moa's sire was the brother of my very first ridgeback, SEUCH SVCH Hamnuddens De Stijl af Argos "Vegas".
What I want to say is, I am soooo proud to have bred this dog, and her siblings. I work hard and try to keep my eye on my goal even though it will take a few years, and generations to get there. There will be setbacks, and you will have to back up and try again, but in the end, it will be worth it.
Look forward to see if her tiny halfsiblings will grow up and be just as beautiful as her!

I have updated the Puppy Diary with lots of mixed photos of the puppies 5-6 days old. I have also taken new individual photos of them 1 week old but those will come soon!

Our puppies are now 3 days old and all growing and gaining weight. Many of them gained more today so I think Tiya's milkproduction is stepping up! Feeding 15 puppies takes energy, so she eats and drinks as often as she wants, being spoiled making sure she gets enough energy herself. Some new photos in the Puppy Diary.

I have updated the Puppy Diary with the first individual photos of the puppies taken yesterday when they were 1 day old. All puppies has been checked and no dermoid sinus, no kinked tails or other faults has been detected. We have one boy with extra crown and two maybe three boys with singlecrown.  Same with one girl, but we will see better in a few weeks as they grow! 

Our fabolous fifthteen are doing very well and so is Tiya. She is a wonderful mother caring for all her babies, making sure they are all close to her and happy. I have updated the Puppy Diary with lots of photos from the first day.
