F-litter Pregnancy & Puppy Diary

2013

Here are the last photos of the puppies before they moved to their new families. All but two puppies has now already left us, and one more is going later today... It is so empty here now.
The last puppy is moving on Tuesday, so I have a little bit of extra qualitytime with him which is good, so I don't get in to chock of puppy fever!  After having 10 gorgeous puppies around me all the time for eight weeks I will feel lonely when they are all gone!
So far they all seem to be doing well in their new families and being very loved! Look forward to follow them for many years to come!

Yesterday the puppies turned 7 weeks old. They got to spend the day at Ove and Camilla's garden, since I had to go off for a few hours  in the middle of the day to celebrate my Dad's Birthday.
We had this weeks photosession outdoors in the lovely sunny weather. See the individual photos below.
Today almost all the puppies new families came by for a visit. We had a couple of nice hours outside with the puppies, they got to learn how to cut their claws and some other things, so that they will feel more ready for when they come to pick up their puppies next weekend.
Thank you all for coming! I hope  you enjoyed the day!
Some photos from today can be found at the bottom of this entry.

The puppies has both yesterday and today gotten to taste deerhood for the first time. They all loved it! I think we have some future stars here as bloodtrackers!
Mira is so wonderful with the puppies, she sure is loving being a nanny! I don't know how she wll react when all the puppies leave.
She brings the puppies toys and sticks, always wanting to play. She is gentle almost all the time loving when they chase her.
Tomorrow the puppies turn 7 weeks old and I only have one more week with all of them... Too sad to think about!
Pictures below are from today and yesterday. Enjoy!

The days goes on and I try to treassure every day I have left with my darlings! On Saturday it is only one week left before most of them move to their new homes.
Yesterday was a great day once again with lovely sunny weather. We spend the day outside in the backyard, and after lunch we took a short trip to the woods. The puppies are just wild outdoors! The are so brave and just eager to explore, which means I am constantly busy trying to keep track of all ten!
Below are some photos from yesterday and some also from today. Next door to my house is a kindergarden. The kids love when I take the puppies outside, and today some of the puppies walked all the way up to their fence so some of the kids could pet them.

The weather continues to gives summertemperatures and we are just loving it! The puppies went for their second carride yesterday to spend the day in Enya's owners garden. Great day for both puppies  and the adult dogs!
Today it was time for another adventure! I took them in the car and drove to the woods to give them a new environment to check out.
The seemed to love it and they are not scared what so ever... I would say they are almost too brave! Puppies everywhere going off on their own... and me being alone, keeping and eye on all ten puppies aswell as the four big dogs...
It was the limit of what I was able to control! So after a short little adventure we headed back home, me probably even more tired than the puppies!
Crossing my fingers that this summerweather will continue for a little bit longer so we can go on more lovely little trips!
Below you can enjoy photos of the puppies from the past two days!

Me and the puppies have had a really good week. The weather has been perfect, over +20 degrees and sunny skys, just like any other summerday! I'm very happy about this warm weather staying for a while into September, because it means that the puppies can spend a lot of time outdoors, more fun for both them and me.
Yesterday it was time for their first little trip. I packed all the puppies aswell as adult dogs into my big car and drove to Enya's owners garden. It is big and fenced and perfect for little puppies ready to explore the world. The puppies were really good in the car, a few cries in the beginning then calm and quiet.
We spend about 4 ½ hours outside with some visitors by old and new puppybyers before heading back home.
I just love these last couple of weeks with the puppies, being able to do different things with them, giving them the best possible start in life that I can!
Tomorrow they turn 6 weeks old and in the afternoon it is time for a new photosession! Look forward to see how they have developed in the last week!
Check back soon for more photos!

Today it was time for the puppies to face the bigger world outside my little fenced area. It is fun to see the different puppies personalities, some puppies are always the first to explore new surroundings and some take slightly longer. Today they all loved the big world! They have been out several times for a little while each time, playing, smelling, tasting and exploring.
I had just as a good time as they did! Loved watching them, my precious beautiful babies!
Below are LOADS LOADS of photos from today. We got a visit from one of my neighbour and their daughter. She works as an artist and she had a photographer there today taking pictures of her, her family and their home, and the wanted the puppies in the photos aswell. So who knows, some of the puppies might appear in a gossipmagazine near you!
This Sunday we also had a visit from puppybyers and their daughter who absolutely loved her time with the puppies, and they their time with her. So a few cuddly pictures of them together in the bottom aswell.
Enjoy all the photos!

The puppies are growing and growing! Tomorrow they are already 5 weeks old! Only 3 more precious weeks with this lovely bunch! Now the fun times really begins, now they are big enough to enjoy the bigger world outside their play area. These past few days they have started to go outside several times a day and they have also been to the kitchen to play,
It is good for them to experience new environments, new sounds and smells. Everything to make them prepared for the life that comes when they move away.
Tomorrow afternoon it is time for their weekly weighing and photosession. But until then you can enjoy photos and a couple of videos from the past few days below.

The puppies are 31 days old today. Yesterday they had an eventful day, while I was cleaning they got to explore the world outside their puppypen. They got to check out the hallway and kitchen and also those who wanted got to go outside. I want them to go outside by their own curiousity, so three boys went all the way out, Mr Black was first, then Mr Green and Mr Blue.
This morning I gave them breakfast outside so I could clean inside while they were eating, and some food made everyone hurry outside! So not hard to convince them!
We have now started to get visits by the future puppyowners, nice for both me and the dogs!
Below are some photos from yesterday, Enjoy!

Tomorrow the puppies are 4 weeks old! A magical number for the puppybyers, because it means that they will be allowed to come and visit us now!
Today we had "Rut" (Kadamo Dancer in the Dark) and her owners here for a visit. I haven't seen Rut since last year so was very happy to have her for a short visit. Rut did not get to come inside to meet the puppies, but her owners did.
Tomorrow the puppies are 4 weeks old and it is time for another individual photoshoot, weighing and their second deworming. So we will have a busy day!
Below are photos from yesterday and today, enjoy!

My lovely darlings are 3 ½ weeks old now. They are all just wonderful, the perfect age! They are curious, climb up in my lap for cuddles and they don't bite yet! In a few more weeks it will be on your own risk to get in and play with them when they have a lot of energy... Then they will most likely be biting toes, clothes and noses!
They still sleep a lot so when they wake up I try to use their awake time to play with them and just socialize them.
All my grown up girls, their grandma Moa, aunt Mira and nanny Yaya has now started to interact a little with them aswell. Mira seem so love her little nieces and nephews!
Look forward to be able to let them go outside, gives them more space and more things to explore.
Below are photos of the puppies 23-25 days old and a video from this morning. Mira entertained the puppies when I was cleaning the puppypen. Enjoy!

Time for more puppyphotos! I haven't had the time before to update with the photos from the end of last week, so you can find them in the end of this album.
On top are photos from yesterday when the puppies are 22 days old. They got to move out to the livingroom yesterday, a big project for me but a short journey for them! But now they have gotten a bigger play area that will increase as they grow bigger.
They all have their teeth out now and they play more rough than before. There is a lot of biting on eachother and toys, I can imagine it itches in their mouths a bit as their teeths come out.
Enya is still nursing them and giving milk several times a day. But they are now getting solid food twice a day,  a mix of minced meat, wet puppyfood and egg. They are all loving it!
Most of the time they are now also walking off the dogbeds and on to the newspapers to pee and poo. During nighttime they don't seem to be as good though... always a nice mess for me to take care of in the mornings! Just five more weeks of that! ;-)
They puppies are getting very social now, as soon as I get in the puppypen they climb up in my lap and wants to be held and cuddled with. And who can say no to that?! Not me!
Enjoy the photos!

I know I am crazy with the amount of photos I am taking... But the puppies are SOOOOO cute! They are just getting more and more "doglike" everyday. Now playing with eachother, barking, growling and just testing their voices.
They have been walking around a bit on the floor in the bedroom while I am cleaning their bed. It is fun watching them walk around checking things out. I am trying to make them understand that their "needs" are done on the paper and not in their bed... we are not quite there yet...
Below are as always loads of photos from yesterday and today, the puppies 17-18 days old. Enjoy!

The puppies are 17 days old today and are getting more fun each day! Finally that joy of having puppies at home is settling in. They can now see me and finds me interesting to explore. The lick, suck and bite what they can, fingers or noses! Still very gentle just exploring. Yesterday they had their first meal of minced meat and they loved it. It did not take long for them to understand how to eat it and they just wanted more!
They will get this once a day now and eventually I will increase to twice a day. After a little while I will start to add wet puppyfood with the minced meat so that they puppies within a few weeks can eat only that.
Below are photos from the past two days. Enjoy!

Two weeks old today! Just six weeks until they will move to their new homes! That sounds so little! But I know from experience it will still feel like a pretty long time, since it is so much that will happen during these few weeks.
Today they were dewormed for the first time, they did not like it... They also had their claws cut again, this time being more cooperative, but I guess I am not their favourite person at the moment.
All the puppies were also put on the scale, they are now weighing between 1000 g - 1400 g, ranging from our smallest girl Ms Pink and our biggest boy Mr Yellow.
We had a little photoshoot taking new individual headshots, the puppies were pretty tired so they did not really look happy or that awake on the photos... But they still look adorable of course!
Enjoy!

My lovely Fire-litter is now 13 days old and they are as adorable as always. All of them has more or less opened their eyes now, and it gives them more personality.
Tomorrow they will be 2 weeks old and have a new individual photoshoot, be dewormed for the very first time, getting their claws cut for the second time and also, this weekend they will get to taste some solid food for the first time.
So we have a busy week ahead of us!
Below are a video and photos from yesterday when the puppies were 12 days old. Enjoy!

The puppies are 10 days old today and they have really grown these last few days. They are using a lot of facial expressions now, lifting eyebrows, moving their ears and so on. Adorable!
I can tell that it won't be long now until they open their eyes. Ms Pink, my smallest girl has been first out. Today half her eyes is open!
I love this stage, because they become more personal when their eyes is open, it's more fun when someone is looking back at you!
Enya is doing good, her apetite is very high, but she can't eat as much as she wants, I still need to adjust her portions.
Her energy level is higher aswell so today she came along for a little bit longer walk around the neighbourhood. Still not a long walk, but at least longer than just walking around the house.

The puppies are 5 days old today. All doing well, still strong and loud! Enya has been fighting a fever since her delivery, it goes a bit up and down, but overall she is doing better and is having more energy.
Yesterday she even wanted to play for a second with the other dogs during our morningwalk!
I am lucky to have some nice people helping me out aswell. Enya's owners where here for a while yesterday so I could take my dogs to the woods aswell as the store.
Elin and Marcus who owns Souki from the D-litter has also helped me out taking my dogs out for walks, which I know they appreciate! I sure do!
They do get less attention these first weeks with puppies in the house, so happy with all the help i get!

Below are some photos of the puppies 3 and 4 days old. Enjoy!

Today the puppes are 3 days old. During the afternoon yesterday I took a lot of photos of the precious bunch! They are just so cute, so want to take photos of them all the time!
All the puppies are doing well, they are strong and lively! Enya unfortunatly has a fever, so she needs some extra TLC.
Hopefully we will get it down today so she will feel better. It is very common that the bitches gets a fever after delivery. Hopefully she will not get an infection, this heat is not optimal for this! So I am happy when I wake up and don't see blue skyes! Cooler temperature is just good for us at the moment!
I hope you will enjoy the photos below!

Yesterday, on Saturday afternoon the 27th of July Enya started to show a change in her behaviour. At around 15.30 her "water broke" and I knew we were going into the next phase of the delivery.
After a couple of hours she started to have a few contractions and in the evening they increased, and at 19.39 our first puppy was born!
A lovely male weighing 595 g, showquality and he got be Mr Gold! Not long after he arrived Enya's owner Camilla joined us to be a support for both Enya and me.
And not long after, at 20.13 the second puppy was born. A showquality male weighing 550 g  and he got to be Mr Green.
Enya were doing a wonderful job quickly getting the hang of what she was supposed to do an caring for her babies.
At 20.47 our third male arrived, also showquality and weighing 550 g. He got to be Mr Blue.
Less then 30 minutes later, at 21.15 our fourth showquality male was born, weighing 590 g and he got to be Mr Purple.
I was by now starting to wonder where my girls where! Even though very happy about the wonderful results so far, I wanted some girls too!
So at 21.32 I was very happy to have our first girl in my hands, weighing 495 g, showquality and of course, she got to be Ms Pink.
Enya kept up the good work and continued to pop out puppies like a pro, and at 22.00 our sixth puppy arrived, another male, weighing 590 g. (Pictures of his entry into this world can be seen below, if you are sensitive for close up photos you have now been warned...) This boy is now known as Mr Black.
Only 20 minutes later at 22.19 our second showquality girl arrived, weighing 600 g (biggest of all the puppies) and she got to be Ms Red.
We now had seven puppies and Enya decided to slow down the pace and rest for a while. She had a little bit to eat before she, after 1 hr 50 min gave birth to girl number three at 00.09. A lovely showquality girl weighing 510 g, getting to be Ms Orange.
After this another long wait, which was now starting to get a little bit tiring for me and Camilla, who both had been awake for a long time. At 02.28 our sixth boy and ninth puppy arrived, also him showquality and weighing 584 g, and he got to be Mr Yellow.
After this we knew we had one more puppy to come, but since she has rested so long inbetween the last two, we expected her to do the same. So when she was sleeping herself both me and Camilla decided to try to do the same. Enya has been very easy in her deliverys and we could easily hear on her breathing when it got closer to a puppy coming. So pretty relaxed we went to sleep for a couple of hours, just checking on Enya and the puppies now and then.
At around 6 am I started to think, she has contractions now and then but in my eyes not often enough. So after a while I called to Bagarmossens Djursjukhus and talked with them. We were thinking just the same. There were no fear for Enya in this stage, but the last puppy could be dead or dying when it is taken so long. The nurse said we could wait for a few more hours, so we waited for a while. But then, after some running with Enya, some more food for her and still no puppy I decided to take her to the vet.
I didn't want to risk loosing our final puppy, and I was hoping the stress of the carride would kickstart the delivery, and it sure did!
At 8.08 our last boy arrived in the back of the car on Essingeleden! Him also showquality, weighing 570 g, and he got to be Mr Lightblue.
Since we were not that far from the vet I decided to still go and just let them doublecheck that this was the last puppy.
Since I had done the X-ray I was sure of 10, but I just didn't want to go back home and worry. So, a little bit poorer we are now at home!

Enya has been amazing the whole time. Not waisting any energy, having good contractions, been calm and relaxed and caring with love for her puppies.
The other dogs has gotten to look at the puppies from the doorway and Enya has been ok with that, she was even ok with joining them outside for a quick quick pee.
I am used to the bitches guarding their puppies, so it is great to see Enya so relaxed, yet of course protective and caring.
Below are some mixed photos from the whole delivery and a couple of videos. Individual pictures coming later on! Enjoy!

Today Enya is on day 60 of her pregnancy. So we are expecting the puppies within the next few days! She is doing very well, thankfully. It is very warm and sunny here at the moment, over +25 C and she is trying to stay cool, by finding good places to sleep, moving from the puppybox to the floor. During the days we can only walk around the house and no more, but in the morning and evening I try to go a little bit further if she wants to.
Her appetite is a bit lower today, she eats the wet food and left overs, but the dry puppyfood isn't that interesting to her.
Her temperature has been the same the whole week, inbetween 37,5-38,0 C. So no signs of the delivery to start yet.
So, we have at least one more night of good sleep! Or good, I wake up once or twice to let her out to pee. But both her and I go back to sleep easily!
I meassured her belly this evening, and she has gained a couple of centimetres since Monday. But I don't think she can get any bigger now... then she will burst!
Keep your fingers crossed for her and a safe delivery of her little miracles! Hopefully our next update here will be when we have puppies!
Below are a few photos from today aswell as a video of her wild puppies having a party in her belly!

Today Enya is on day 56 of her pregnancy! Finally we have reached the last week! It is so exciting now, and I just want those puppies to arrive. Yesterday afternoon and evening was hard for Enya. She was breathing heavy and just struggling. I don't know if it was because the puppies was moving around a lot or if it was just warm.
The night was peaceful and so has today been. In the afternoon Johanna with Enya's daddy Wilson came for a visit and we went to the cemetery for a little walk together. Enya seemed very happy and enjoyed to get out. We are not taking any long walks, and during the middle of the dy when it is the warmest we only walk around the house. But in the morning and evening I try to take a little bit longer when she wants to.
Today we took some new photos of Big-Momma and also a little family photo with the proud Grandparents to be! This will be Moa and Wilson's first grandkids! So this litter is special in many ways for both me and my sister Johanna.
Enya is such a beautiful girl, even now caring around 10 kg extra she just looks wonderful too me! Since last week she has gained another 6 cm around her waist and 9 cm around her belly! I think those puppies can't grow anymore, Enya's belly might burst if they do!!

I will try to update here when Enya starts her whelping, but the most frequent updates will be on Facebook. Keep your fingers crossed now for us and a easy whelping for Enya!

Enya is today on day 53 of her pregnancy, and in just one week she could start to deliver her puppies. It's normal with a delivery around day 59-63, so not long now!
Today I took her to the vet for a check up and X-ray. On the X-ray I can see 10 little puppies! A bigger litter than I first had guessed she would have! But we are all happy about that!
Enya weighed 49,5 kg, so she has gained 9,5 kg. By the end of the pregnancy my bitches has in general gained about 1 kg per puppy, so she isn't far off that!
She is resting a lot, both in the puppybox and on the couch. She is such a sweet girl, little sister Mira is allowed to lay next to her, and she sure isn't feeling lonely!
Today the weather has been a bit cooler which is good for Enya, it makes her walks more comfortable. We are not walking that far, but when it is hot it get's hard for her anyway.
Below you can see some pictures of Enya just relaxing today aswell as X-rays of her belly and puppies. I have also posted a short video where you can see the puppies move inside Enya's belly! Enjoy!

Enya is today on day 49 of her pregnancy and she now only has two more weeks to go! These last two weeks is the hardest, because it is now that the puppies really start to grow and take up a lot of space inside her belly. She will find it harder to walk around, clean herself and find comfortable ways to sleep.
But I will do my best to assist her! She will move in her with me and the dogs any day now, as soon as I have gotten the puppybox prepared for her. I can't wait!
I meassured her belly today when I went to see her to take some new photos, and she has gained 12 cm around her waist and 14 cm around her belly! I don't know how much she has gained in weight, will weigh her when we go to the vet for an X-ray.
Below are some new photos of Enya from today and also a short video of her and her big belly! Enjoy!

Last weekend I had the priviligue to meet two of his brothers and one of his sisters. I feel very confident that these puppies will turn out very happy and sweet dogs!
There is such a happy and positive energy over the Kangelani dogs, that I just love!
Now I am off to meet Enya and take some new photos of her belly!

Today Enya is on day 37 of her pregnancy, so just about four weeks left until the puppies will be born. Time is flying by! You can now start to see that her belly is growing and her behaviour has changed. Last week when she got a nice dogbone she went out in the garden and started to dig trying to hide it for the "future". This is something she has never done before, so definetely a mothers instinct!
Since the AI Enya's belly has grown 3 cm and her waist 5 cm. In a few weeks those numbers will have increased a lot more! Now the real growing of the puppies start, up until now they have been tiny, but now, and especially the last two weeks they will grow into the size they have at birth, which is a lot in such a short time.
I will get new photos of Enya when I am back from my holiday. She will then be around day 49 and it will be time for her to move in with me. Until then enjoy these photos of our gorgeous mum to be!

Enya is today on day 35 in her pregnancy. Her belly has started to grow and this passed week her apetite has been low. Normally Enya is a gold medalist in fast eating... so you can really tell the difference now.
It is perfectly normal that the bitch feels a bit sick at this stage of the pregnancy, they can throw up and eat less.
Enya has spend the last week and a half with her owner Camilla on a relaxing vacation. Later this week she is coming back home and I will make sure to go and see her before I leave for my weeks vacation. When I am back home again it will only be just over two weeks left until the puppies will be here! Soooo exciting!
Just four weeks left from now!
Check back in here later this week for more new photos of our mummy to be!

For you who are interested in knowing more about the developing of the puppies inside Enya's belly should watch this movie. It is amazing to see what acctually happens inside the womb.
Enya is on day 28 on Monday which means that she has gone almost half time of her pregnancy.
It will take another week or two before her belly will have grown and she will start to put on weight. The puppies are still very small and Enya is still living her life just like normal.
It is important for her to stay active as long as she wants, a bitch in good shape has a much better chance to go trough labour without any problems. An overweight dog has  much higher risk for complications.
So as long as she will have energy she will get to go on her normal walks. Usually it is not until the last one or two weeks that the bitch will start to slow down.
Check back in her soon for more updates on Enya's progress!

Jippie! Enya in confirmed pregnant! Kadamo's F-litter is baking in the oven and will see daylight around the last days of July! Can't wait to start seeing Enya's belly grow and the excitement to build up the next sex weeks!
We could see atleast around 5 puppies on todays ultrasound, perhaps there are more just hiding today. I am counting the pregnancy days from the day of the AI which means Enya is on day 21 today. But from the ultrasound we would say that she might only be on day 19-20, which just means that fertilization didn't take place until a day or two after the actuall AI.
Enya was so calm and well behaved! She is such a sweet girl, just trust me and think lying on a table in a veterinary clinic wasn't all that bad!
So happy about this wonderful news! Moa will be a grandmother and we will have our first "true" Kadamo litter with a dog born  her as a mother! So exciting to see the second generation of Kadamo dogs being born!

Enya is today on day 18 of her pregnancy. Or well, we still don't know if she is pregnant! It is too early to see any signs yet... so we are waiting... and waiting...
On Monday she is on day 21 and I will bring her with me to work to do an ultrasound and then we will know if she has little puppies growing in her belly!
Today I borrowed Enya for the day to walk with interested puppybyers. She was so happy to see my pack again, which feels great waiting for this litter! I know Enya will be happy with us during that time!
Below are a few new pictures of Enya taken today. Keep your fingers crossed for us on Monday and stay online for hopefully some good news!

Enya is today on day 14 on her (hopefully) pregnancy. She is doing great but it is still to early to say if she is pregnant or not. Too early for showing signs... so we keep on waiting.
Next Monday on day 21 we will do an ultrasound and then we will know for sure if we have little puppies on the way! So keep your fingers crossed for us!
After having spend three weeks with me and my pack Enya today got to go back to her owners. We have gotten so used to having her here so it feels a bit empty now. She is such an easy going girl and she just melts into my pack without any problems. So I can't wait to have her back by the end of her pregnancy!

This morning at 9 am I took a second progesteronetest on Enya and she has rised faster than we had expected. From 5 nmol/L on Friay to 36 nmol/L today.
So after a phonecall to Marit in Norway Leo was on his way to the vet clinic to have his semen collected and shipped to Stockholm.
At 19.30 me and Enya's owner Camilla came to Arlanda Airport and picked up the chilled fresh semen and drove from there straight to SLU/Ultuna in Uppsala. There we had a late evening appointment with Eva Axnér who is a specialist in dog reproduction.
After some different exams of Enya she was clear to go! Everything looked perfect and the timing seem to  be good.
The semen was also of good quality so the AI was done, around 21.40 pm. When she was finished Enya got to sit with her butt high up in my lap for almost 15 minutes before we put her straight back into the car.
Now all we can do is wait and cross all our fingers for a healthy beautiful litter of puppies in about 9 weeks!!!
But in about 3-4 weeks I will make an ultrasound to see if she is pregnant! So a little bit shorter wait for the first, hopefully good news!

Enya being inseminated with Leo

Today I took the first progesteronetest on Enya at 11.50 am. We drove to Djursjukhuset Albano and left it to the lab tech who then called me about one hour later.
Enya is today on day 12 of her heat and her progesterone was at 5 nmol/L.
We will take a second test on Monday morning and see if she has ovulated (normal between 15-20 nmol/L) during the weekend. If so, Leo will go to the vet and have his semen collected and send by air to Arlanda!
I have seen a change in her behaviour, and also in Dando. During today's walk they acted like lovers and just wanted to be alone for some qualitytime... Dando who is 10 years old and also nutured still loves his girls! He hasn't been interested in Enya before today, and now back home it is all quiet and calm again. But I am guessing they will get more and more interested in eachother the next few days. If it get's a little bit to much for Dando he might get to spend a few days with Enya's dad Wilson and my sister Johanna.
I don't want Enya to give the old man a heartattack!
More updates on Monday! Hopefully we will do the AI during next week!

Today Leo went to the vet to get his little swimmers checked out before it is time for the real semen collection next week.
Luckily everything looked great and the semen quality was very good!
So that was good news, now all we can do is wait for Friday and our first progesteronetest on Enya.
After that we will know more about when it might be time for the insemination.

Yesterday afternoon I went and picked up Enya from her owners. She lives with a ridgeback male and it is a bit of hard work for her owners to keep an eye on them now when she is starting to smell good.
Today Enya is on day 9 of her heat and still no signs on her coming into the peak. I will most likely take the first bloodtest on Thursday or Friday so we have a value  before the weekend so we can compare with that next week.
Me (and Marit at Kangelani) have decided to do an AI (insemination) instead of natural mating. There are a few reasons to this, for example that there is a 1000 km drive one way, all dogs passing the border to Norway need to go to the vet for deworming, which for me doesn't mean  only Enya but all my dogs that would come along, and also Marit has two bitches that is expected to give birth to their puppies around next week and weekend.
So we will have chilled semen shipped to Stockholm and do an AI at Canirep by Catharina Linde Forsberg.
Hopefully this will work well! And depending on what the first progesteronetest says by the end of this week, we will know more of when it might be time for the AI. But I am thinking and hoping for the end of next week, if she rises in progesterone like her mother.
Today we have enjoyed a couple of walks in the woods. Enya is so relaxed in my pack and they with her, which feels great. I think they will work well together when they puppies has arrived aswell!
Next update on Enya coming by the end of the week!

A couple of days ago I went to visit "Enya" SEVCH Kadamo Ain't She Sweet who will be the mother of our upcoming F-litter. I haven't seen her for a little while so just wanted to go and give her some kisses!
And something must have happend during my visit... because today when I went to meet her and her owner Ove for a little walk she started her heat! And the first blood came/was found during their walk to meet me!
So now this great and very exciting journey finally begins! We will start with taking a bloodtest to check her progesteronelevel by the end of next week. Depending on what it says I will start to prepare for our long long drive to Stavanger in Norway to meet handsome daddy to be, "Leo" NUCH Kangelani's Gentle Leo Son of Clay.
If you want to know more about this upcoming litter, the parents, photos and videos go to F-litter page.
