I am very happy that the weather has finally changed for the better, and we have had a couple of days with sunshine and nicer temperatures. This means that our N-litter who is 5,5 weeks old has been able to enjoy a lot of time outdoors, playing, exploring, eating and sleeping.

On Sunday it was time for the M-litters third puppyclass. So nice to see them again, they are growing so fast. When having a litter of small puppies at home at the same time these guys just appear bigger! All puppies did well and starting to get a hang of things. We had a small photoshoot afterwards for some new individual photos of each pup.

On Thursday it was time for Kadamo Michael Jackson "Frank" from the Michael Jackson-litter (Segra x Spencer) to have his dermoid sinus  (DS) removed with surgery.
We had booked him at Sundbybergs Veterinärpraktik who has performed several DS surgery before his, so we felt he was in good hands.
The surgery went well and the DS was attached to his neckmuscle. The vet was saticfied with the surgery, and could not find anything going deeper than that. Now he just need his wound to heal before he will official be Josefins dog. Thank you Josefin for taking such great care of him through all of this!  Some photos below.

Last week many of the puppies had diarréa. It is common with young puppies but this time it got worse than I am used to. Some of them had poo just like water, and also started vomiting. When you are this little you have no reserves when you loose that much fluid so some of them quickly became tired and weak. I started treating them at home and most of them responded well, but three of them where on Thursday still not doing well so I took them to the animalhospital Strömsholm. They all got IV fluids and the two girls, Ms Red and Ms Pink got to stay over night for more care, and Mr Yellow got to come home. The evening after I went to pick up Red who had been doing better, and to spend some time with Pink who the vet wanted to keep another night. Ms Pink really lived up when I was there, started playing and got her apetite back so she got to come home with us aswell. 
The night went well but the next day Ms Red was harder to feed again, she did not want to swallow. I took her back to the animalhospital and she was admitted again. 
More medicine and IV fluids and the next day (last night) I got to come and pick her up in the late evening. She has more energy back and also her appetite, which was lovely to see. They have all started to poop solid again so I do hope this bad week is over for all, and that no one else will get worse again.
We did a stacked photoshoot on Wednesday morning, but the weather was cold and most puppies not great in their stomaches so not great photos, but you can see them in the Puppy Diary.

Today Kadamo Sarabi the Lionqueen "Rut" from the Lion King-litter (Mira x Colin) won his 3rd 1st prize in openclass bloodtracking and with that completed her Swedish championtitle, SEVCH.

On Saturday me and my daughter Tove drove to Uddevalla and found our little cabin where we were staying for the weekend. Early on Sunday we got up and drove to the Nordic Dogshow in Backamo judge Åke Cronander, SWE.
The que to get to the parkinglot was loooong, and it took us about 45 min in it to get to the showarea. Due to this delay for so many people the show had been held up so when we finally reached our ring I had to rush in with Maddox without warming up to have him judged and particiapate in the class competition. He got Excellent and won the class with CQ!
He went on to win Best male, with his first CAC and first Nordic CAC aswell. 
After him I showed Tiya in Openclass and she also recieved Excellent and was placed as 4th Best in her class. Maddox got to compete against the best bitch (Ch Sw Jw-19 NordW-19 RidgeRules RV Next Move) who won and he became BOS.
After the show me and Tove headed to Varberg were my parents has a cottage. We went with the dogs to the beach, enjoyed lunch, icecream, walking around town and by the water and finished with dinner in the harbour before driving back to our cottage. Tired dogs and child! 
On Monday it was time for the Int. Dogshow today judged by Benny Blidh Von Schedvin, SWE. It started after lunch so we took the dogs for a walk on an island we found d´not very far from the showground. We also has time for a quick bathstop in a small lake at the showground which they really enjoyed.
After that it was showtime again and Maddox once again won the Intermediateclass with Excellent and CQ. He finished 2nd Best male with R-CAC but he got the CACIB since the winner was a junior. So first CACIB was a great win to bring home!
Tiya was once again also placed as 4th Best in Openclass with Excellent. 
Saticfied with our weekend we headed back to the car, tired dogs and a very tired child... As we started to leave the parkingare a car hit us right in the side, damaging my door. The driver was unfortunately looking the other way as she drove out on the road I was on and completely missed seeing me, and I had no chance to stop or turn away. 
The damage wasn't huge, and no one got hurt. Just a bad way to end the nice weekend. Still happy with our results and it is nice to be back home with the rest of the family and all the animals!

Finally I decided for a name for our keeper from the Michael Jackson-litter, Kadamo The Girl Is Mine. She will be called "Hailey". She has gotten her own page here now under The Dogs.

Roseridge Red Rastaban "WILSON"

2008/03/10 - 2021/08/05

Yesterday one of the greatest ridgebackmales left this earth. I was privilgued to be a close part of his life especially his first years. Wilson was bought by my sister in 2008 and I helped her show him. We had a lot of fun and great wins and he went on to be one of the most successful ridgebacks in Sweden together with Johanna.
Wilson sired my second litter, my Beatles-litter with Moa and he is also the grandfather to my Fire-litter. I am happy to have had him in my breedingprogramme as I know many other breeders in the world are happy to have aswell. 
Wilson was such a playful dog, loved goofing around with toys and bones even as he was old. He always liked my dogs and my "original" pack with Dando, Moa and Yaya where together with Wilson the unstoppable four.
Now neither one of them are here on earth with us, which feels really sad, since it is an end of an era. Those four dogs were so special and life was different back then.
I got to see him and take our final photos on Wednesday, and I was happy to be able to say goodbye. You will always have a part of my heart and you will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace Wilson, tell Dando, Moa and Yaya that I love them and miss them..
