I have recieved some new photos of one of the boys from my last litter, the GOLD-litter (Kayla x Idde). This handsome guy Kadamo Digging for Gold "Boba" is now 6,5 months old and had a date yesterday with his dad Idde. They had a little photoshoot and I am happy to have gotten a bunch of wonderful photos taken by Boba's owner Freda Thimell. Thank you!

Today I just couldn't wait any longer, so at lunch we drove to my old workplace, Mälaren Smådjursklinik to do an ultrasound on Mira.
I have felt very sure that she is pregnant, but still, before I see it on the screen I can't be a 100 % sure.
But she is pregnant! We saw a bunch of little puppies in the making in her belly so now I can relax for a while before it is time for her delivery.
They puppies is expected to be born around the 31 st of August. So about 6 weeks of waiting now begins!
See more photos from the ultrasound in the Pregnancy Diary.

Last night I went to Lure coursingpractice with Elin and Marcus and their two RR-girls Souki (SEVCH Kadamo Heart Stopper) and Noomi (SEVCH Kadamo Fire in my Heart).
I used to do LC training with my girls when they were younger but since Ridgebacks are not allowed to compete in Sweden it was not easy to find opentrainings that we could attend.
So the past few years we have been to RR-race that are held on Greyhound ovaltracks.
But last night it was time to try real LC again.
Since I hope Mira is pregnant I decided not to let her race and Koya is too young, so it was my two experienced girls Moa (9 years) and Yaya (7 years) who got to do it.
And that very quicly realised what was up and definetely remember what to do!
They got to run once each, the weather was very bad with rain and it all took so long so we did not stay for a second run this time.
Happy to see that Moa's kids and grandkids also seem to love this! Thank you Marcus and Elin for the photos!

Yesterday it was time for the International Dogshow in Köping, judged by Davern Pluis, USA.
First out in the ring was young boy Kadamo Nothing But Gold "Argos" who did well winning Best Male puppy with HP and Best of Breed puppy.
I was supposed to show his sister, my girl Kadamo I'm in it for the Gold "Koya" but unfortunately didn't get there in time. The judge was still kind enough to let me show her to get a critique, even though we were outside of the official competition.
Her critique:
"Lovely puppy. Good frontassembly. Lovely rear. Very nice outline. Very feminine. Beautifully balanced."
She asked  me if she could take her home... and really wanted to award her something but since we got there to late that was not possible. I am still pleased with how Koya behaved even though she did not get to run/compete against any other puppies.

After the puppies it was time for the official classes and I had brother Kadamo Fire it Up "Arrax" and Kadamo Playing with Fire "Zeppelin" in intermediateclass. Both boys did very well gaining Excellent, Arrax placed 2nd with CQ and Zeppelin 3rd.
In Workingclass I showed Kadamo A Big Hunk o' Love "Attila" for the second time, his second show ever. He behaved very well and recieved Excellent and finished 2nd in the class.
In openclass we had SEJW-12 Kadamo Rob Roy "Dexter" who is on the hunt for his third and final CAC needed for his Championtitle. Today he finished nicely as 2nd in the class with Exc and CQ.
None of the boys were placed in Best male class today.

Time for the girls and today I got to show SEVCH Kadamo Lady in Red "Chanel" in workingclass. She was happy to be in the ring eating candy with me and recieved Excellent and placed 2nd in the class with CQ.
In Championclass I showed  my girl SEUCH SEVCH RLDN RLDF Kadamo Bringin' It Back "Mira" to a 4th place with Excellent and SEUCH FINUCH SEVCH Kadamo Thinking of Tilley "Tilly" won the class with Excellent and CQ.
In Best Bitchclass she made it all the way to 3rd Best Bitch! We wentered with a Breedersgroup with dogs from 4 different combinations, so not the most homogen group, so we finished 3rd.

Thank you all for a very nice day, see you again in a few weeks!

What a week we have had! Evey year for the past few years I have gone with my dogs to the north of Sweden to hike and enjoy the lovely scenery. Every year when I come home I have puppybyers telling me they also want to go.
So this year I thought, why not try to bring them all? I was very happy to see that a lot of people wanted to go so after some months of planning we were 21 people and 15 dogs who headed for Lindvallen, Sälen.
There we had rented a a three storeyhouse with room for all of us! We all arrived there during Sunday afternoon/evening and on Monday we went for our first hike.
We started with the longest one which was about 15 km long and with a lot of stops on the way it took us almost 6 hours.  With 6 children with us we adjusted the speed after them, and we were all so impressed with them!
After the first day we all enjoyed a great BBQ and lovely evening at the house together.
Day 2 we all drove to Fulufjället and hiked to Swedens largest waterfall Njupeskär. There we split up and some went on a shorter hike around 5 km and some of us took the longer 10 km walk up and around the waterfall. We got some rain at first but when that passed we had some very nice weather and really enjoyed our hike, which was a bit rough at some places with lots of rocks and steap hills up and down.
When we got back to the cars the rain came again and we headed home for another great meal together.
Day 3 started with a lot of rain so we spend half the day with indooractivites. Some shopping and lunch before the weather finally got better. Some people were driving home today so they went off earlier on a 11 km hike around Tandådalen and some of us went 10 km at Högfjällshotellet in the afternoon. In the evening after dinner all of us who was still there went bowling. It was a great evening, thank you all!

One evening after dinner me and Christoffer got a big surprise from all my puppybyers. They had written a lovely rime, made a gift basket with champagneglasses with our initialts on, some bottled drinks also with our initals and the biggest gift, a huge parasol with the Kadamologo on it. THANK you to each and everyone of you for this! Love you all to bits!

These few days up north was great and I do hope that we can do it again next year, and perhaps be even more people going?!
Below are photos from our three hikes, enjoy!

First out was our "petboy" Kadamo Jack Daniels "Zimba" in petclass were he did great with his handler Amanda, finishing nicely 2nd Best Male.
After him it was time for 4 of my Gold-litter puppies to make their showdebut in puppyclass 4-6 months. I got to show Kadamo Aiming for Gold "Walter" who placed 2nd with HP. His brothers Kadamo Nothing But Gold "Argos" finished 4th with HP and Kadamo Gold Rush "Tor" finished 5th with HP.
After the boys it was my turn to enter the ring with my sweet girl Kadamo I'm in it for the Gold "Koya". She won her class with HP and got to compete for Best Bitch puppy against the classwinner 6-9 months. Little Koya won and competed after that against the Best Male puppy and won again making her Best of Breed Puppy/ Best in Show puppy!
So proud of her for doing such a good job at her first show, and the result just a big bonus!

After the puppies the official classes begin and in Intermediateclass I had two boys entered. I showed Kadamo Playing with Fire "Zeppelin" and he recived EXC, won the class and got CQ.
His brother Kadamo Fire it Up "Arrax" finished 3rd in the class with VG.

So excited for Best Male competition, with four dogs present and three of them classwinners today!
Placed in Best Male was Kadamo Playing with Fire "Zeppelin" as 7th and SEJW-12 Kadamo Rob Roy "Dexter" as 5th Best Male.

I want to say a HUGE congratulations to my lovely puppybyers for todays great result! It is thanks to you that your dogs are so welltrained and wellbehaved in the ring, and you all deserve the success!

Also I want to thank each and everyone of you who helped me to take care of my daughter Ellen the whole day! My day would have been a disaster without your help today! So thank you!!!

Tomorrow we are heading north for a few days of hiking with friends and dogs, so will not show my other girls at BISS tomorrow. But I wish everyone else good luck!

We have spend a bit less than a week on the Swedish westcoast, near Tvååker where my parents have a little house. This was Koya and my daughter Ellen's first time on the beach and they both loved the ocean!
We had good luck with the weather the first day but that was about it. After that it has been extremely windy and also rain.
So not exactly the relaxing sunny holiday that I was hoping for... But we still had a very nice time going to the woods, shopping, visiting Christoffers parents and also spending time with mine.
Now we are back home getting ready for Koya's very first show on Saturday and next week we are going hiking up north with a big bunch of Kadamodogs and owners.
Below are mixed photos from our days on the westcoast! Enjoy!

For the past week we have had NORDUCH SEVCH Mankoya's  Incredible Idde by Gambo "Idde" her to mate our girl SEUCH SEVCH RLDN RLDF Kadamo Bringin' It Back "Mira".
We took a first progesteronetes last Thursday on day 12 in her heat and it showed only 3,9 nmol/L. So I knew it would take a few more days before she would be ready.
Because Idde doesn't live near us and his owner was going away just this weekend we made arrangement to bring him to us on Friday evening. Mira was not ready then but already on Saturday morning her behaviour changed.
The whole weekend they flirted and had good attempts of mating but it was still a little bit to early.
On Monday morning day 16 I took the second progesteronetest and now it showed 48,3 nmol/L. So now it was about time for a mating, and just as I wished for it they did it!
The day after they were on it again and we had a second mating on day 17, and again on Wednesday, day 18.
The two of them has done it all so well. They really preferred to be on their own without me trying to help out. So I let them and that worked just as it should. No one holding them, no force.
I was a bit suprised that Mira was interested in Idde for so many days so I took a third bloodtest after the third mating just because I was curious.
So the day of the third and final mating, day 18 her progesteronelevel was on 59,8 nmol/L. So they timed it all very well and now we hope for a lovely bunch of puppies in 9 weeks!
Puppies expected around 31st of August and I will make an ultrasound in about 3 weeks to hopefully get the pregnancy confirmed!
For more information about the parents of this litter visit the Planned H-litter page and to follow the pregnancy visit the H-litter Pregnancy Diary.
Below are mixed photos of the couple from the past week here together with us. Enjoy!

I am so proud to be a breeder of so many wonderful dogs, but even more proud to have so many lovely owners who take time to compete and activate their dogs in different ways.
The Swedish Rhodesian Ridgeback Club keeps track of the results in different dogsport, and I am happy to say that dogs from Kadamo are placed in the top on both the Top Showdog, Top Bloodtrackingdog and Top Rallyobediencedog.
Great job all of you! I hope to see all of you staying within top 10 by the end of the year!
