We got to enjoy summer days with 30+ degrees and lovely company by some of Yaya's brothers and their owners. When it was time for the shows Yaya just rocked it back "home" winning Best Bitch all three days, giving her the finnish CAC the first day making her Finnish Champion! She also recieved 3 CACIB's and was placed as BOS the first two days and as Best of Breed the third and last day! But her winning ways did not stop there. She won the groupfinal as BIG-1 and got to compete in the Best in Show finals! Unfortunately no placement there but that did ot matter! I was over the moon anyway!
I also showed Myy who was placed as 2nd Best Junior day one at the shows. (See a full report from our lovely trip to Finland here.)

Yaya and me in the BIS-finals

Yaya with her ribbons and trophys from the weekend

Best possible company!

This lovely month continued back home with a weekend with some of the A-litter crew in Askersund. We attended the two day shows there, first an International Show and then a Ridgeback Specialty.
We rented a little cottage together with Ramoz, Charlie, Gaya and Leya and their owners and also had the delightful company of Jenna and her family all the way from Germany!
The first day of showing Yaya was placed as 3rd Best Bitch with R-CACIB and Best of Breed was Wilson! Judge was Zoran Brankovic. Charlie was also placed as 3rd Best in the class and Gaya as 5th in her class.
For the very first time I entered with a Breedersgroup consisting of Charlie, Leya, Gaya and Ramoz. And we won making us Best Breeders Group with Honoursprize! So we got to enter the finals where we among a lot of beautiful groups was placed as BIS-2! Johanna and Wilson made it all the way to BIG-1 in their groupfinals too!
After this first lovely day at the show we had a great time with friends at a BBQ at our place! Thank you all for a great evening!
Time for the second day of showing and the Ridgeback Speciality judged by Andrezej Kazmierski and breed entry was about 100. We started out with Charlie becoming 3rd Best in the class with CQ and Ramoz 6th. Winning Best Male was again today Johanna and Wilson!
Then time for the girls where I had Leya, Gaya and Jenna in intermediateclass. All girls did great placing Gaya as number 1 with CQ, Leya as 4th and Jenna as 5th!
Yaya won the Championclass so time for Best Bitch with both her and Gaya picked out for top 5 placement! Yaya won becoming Best Bitch and Gaya was placed as 5th Best bitch!
Time to meet Johanna and Wilson for Best of Breed/BISS where we had to see ourselves beaten, Yaya becoming BOS/RUBISS! Since she won this show last year it still felt ok to give that trophy to someone in our family!
After this I once again entered with my Breeders Group, the same as the day before and yet again we won! Best Breeders Group at a Ridgeback Speciality feels pretty good!
Charlie was also rewarded Best Ridge at the end of the day!
Our day at the showground wasn't finished yet though. Johanna and Wilson still had the BIS-finals left after winning BIG-1 yesterday, so in the afternoon it was time for them again and they made it all the way to BIS-3!
(A full report from this wonderful weekend can be found here.)

In August the puppyclass for the A-litter began and it was great to get to see all of them once a week for a period of time!

By the end of October Yaya's bloodtest for progesterone showed that it was time for us to begin our long journey towards Slovakia. I drove trough Sweden to Trelleborg. There I took the ferry 6to Sassnitz and then I drove from there trough Germany into Czech Repuplic and Prague and from there on into Slovakia and to Akala!
A trip that took 30+ hours one way... We arrived in the evening on the 28th and Yaya got to meet Akala straight away. And she fell in love just as I did! We got our first mating within minutes of them seeing eachother!
After that we waited one day and did a second mating on the 30th before driving back home the day after. Nine weeks of waiting had begun! (See a little report from our trip trough Europe here.)

December
A month that we mostly just waited and watched Yaya's belly grow. I also announced my planned litter with Moa for late 2011. Of course she also needed to get a Canadian boyfriend and I found Mr Right for her in Ch HPK Tropaco Troyan Argos of COSO.
Before Christmas I did an X-ray of Yaya's big belly I saw that we would be getting busy! Twelve little precious puppies were fighting for room in there!
And just as the clock passed 24.00 and they date turned to 29th of December the puppies started to arrive! The best possible way to end a very lovely year! We got 12 babies, 8 boys and 4 girls! Unfortunately one boy had DS so we now have 11 wonders at home bringing joy to our lifes every second! Follow these little guys develop here.
