Yesterday was a fabolous day for me and Yaya and it will go down in history for me! We had our third obediencecompetition in the morning before the Speciality Show in Stäket. It was 7 dogs in our class and I was quite pleased with Yaya. She was one of three that acctually stayed laying down when the rest of the dogs sat up. She also got very nice scores on everything except the healwork... (Never works as it should on our competitions...) I was so nervous and afraid that our total score would put us just below the limit for a 1st prize. Not sure how I did that math in my head because it all ended up with Yaya and me winning the class with 171,5 points! Our third straight first prize from three competitions in 10 days! Now I know what true happiness feels like! I never in my wildest dreams thought we could finnish this title so fast, so I am walking on clouds and will stay up here for a while! A couple of weeks ago I met up with Leya, Ramoz and Charlie from the A-litter and Dando's halfbrother Buster for some tracking in Knivsta. All dogs did well and recieved first prizes! This has made the Swedish Top Ten list for tracking ridgebacks look very nice! See the complete list HERE. |

This past weekend Johanna and Wilson tried their luck in Denmark at the Speciality Show in St. Merlöse. Judge was Jean P Achtergael, Belgium and breed entry 70. Wilson won the openclass and later on Best Male! This gave him the CAC and title Danish Champion, DKUCH! Congratulations Johanna! I am very proud of the sire to my lovely B-litter! Keep up the great work! |

Yesterday evening Yaya and I had our first obediencecompetition. I wasn't sure how it would go because I have a cold and it was of course raining... But wit a bit of luck the rain stopped in time for us to step out on the field and the rainbow appeared on the sky! So I made a silent wish in my head for success and it worked! Yaya did quite well except for the healwork and laying down during heal that she was a bit out of focused and slow in. Otherwise I was very pleased with her! I was guessing a 2nd prize so I was thrilled when they called us up on the 8th place of 19 dogs with 163 points and a 1st prize! Best possible start of our obedience career together! Tonight we had our second competition! When I entered us a few weeks ago I thought I might as well go all in! So second evening in a row and our second competition. Tonight she had her full attention on me the whole time and was great to compete with! She didn't get that great score for healwork tonight either because her position is to far ahead! (For you who have ever competed with your ridgeback you know that this is not the most common problem we have... our dogs are usually behind us!) She was slow laying down aswell today other than that everything went great! So with some quick math in my head I guessed for a total score quite similar as yesterday. So time for the results and sweet "kick-ass-Yaya" that I now call her, got the same score again today, 163 points, her second 1st prize and a 5th place out of 13 dogs! On Monday Carin and Leya went to Norrtälje for their third Openclass track. Leya did very well gaining her third first prize in a row making her Swedish Blood/Fieldtracking Champion, SEVCH! Congratulations to you Carin! Very well done girls! This was the fifth SEVCH from the A-litter and the sixth Championtitle for them overall! Not bad for a litter of 12 at the age of 16 months! Did I mention that I am very proud?! Keep up the great work and B-litter, you have some big shoes to fill! |

This weekend Elina and Myy went to Estonia to attend two dogshows there. They had the hopes the get Myy's third JCAC for the Ee JCh title. And they made it look easy! First day of showing Myy won the juniorclass with Exc-1 which gave her the much wanted JCAC and with that making her Estonian Junior Champion! She also took out BOB-Junior, Best Bitch and BOS. Second day of showing she repeated her success winning Juniorclass again, but today able to pass on the JCAC to the 2nd placed dog since Myy got the title the day before. She was also BOS Junior, Best Bitch and BOS again only beaten by a Russian Championmale! HUGE Congratulations to Elina and Myy! You make me so proud! I got goosebumps when I got the great news! My first own bred Show Champion! A very very nice feeling, thank you for that Elina! A bunch of pictures from their weekend can be seen HERE. This was the 5th Championtitle for the A-litter which means that their mum Fendi will get the CV title to add to her name! Life goes on after the puppies has left. Tomorrow Lotus (Mr Yellow) leaves and all puppies will be gone... A bit sad but at the same time they are all in great homes and doing so well so I can relax. I have started to recieve pictures of puppies from their owners. They are all doing well and seem to be settling in just fine in their new homes. The B-litter has turned 8 weeks old and all but one has now moved to their new home. Mr Yellow is staying an extra week before he moves to his new family. All the puppies seems to have done very well their first day at home settling in with their new families, other dogs and cats. I am so proud of them all and also very grateful for all the updates I am getting from their owners on their progress! Makes me feel better about giving them up! It is amazing how attached you get to these little once after living with them for two months! On Saturday we made our last attempt on stacking them. Unfortunately it was a cold and rainy day which the puppies were not huge fans of so the results are based on that... Check out the individual pictures HERE. in Östersund. He has been X-rayed and just like the rest of his brothers
and sister he is clear on both hips (B/B) and elbows (0/0). Congratulations
to owners Åsa and Andreas! And thank you for the pictures of your stunning boy! See them all HERE. Also Kadamo First Lady "Jenna" in Germany has taken the test for Dilute colour and she came back DD (good!). The B-litter has been to the woods a couple of days ago for the first time in their life. And sure did they enjoy it! They are all very independent checking things out on their own but at the same time the follow me and is eager to take contact with people. I did get a couple of videos of them from the woods aswell. The quality of the pictures from the woods are not the best unfortunately, too bad lighting in there but at least it is better than nothing! The puppies also went to the veterinary yesterday for their health checks, vaccination and ID-chip. They all behaved beautifully, thank you Marianne and Annso for the help! fun week so far with a visit to the family Larssons garden. A big new place

Today my little princess turns 4 years old! I am so proud of what my girl has accomplished so far! Not just in results when it comes to tracking and showing, but in producing a wonderful litter here at Kadamo. The role as mummy she has taken on excellently and taking the best care of her little onces. But time flies with them too and we only have 1 ½ week left together with them before they move to their new homes! See the latest pictures of them HERE. These past few days they have had a visit from two new dogs and also gotten to taste deerhoof for the first time! Johanna has been away for one week of holiday on the westcoast. During this time she entered three shows aswell and her and Wilson did great! They started with being 3rd Best Male in Borås last weekend and ended the holiday with being Best of Opposite Sex two days in a row also with CACIB! The puppies and I are enjoying our days now outdoors in my parents garden. It is great for the puppies with all the new sounds and new experiences. And I am loving to spend a little time in the sun and so does the big dogs so we are all happy! The big dogs and I take two good walks a day, one in the morning and one in the evening when it is cooler outside. Moa comes along and it is nice to see her out moving again even though she still is very skinny and has lost a lot of muscles. But she will be back in shape eventually! When I went to Barsebäck last weekend I also recieved the ribbons that Yaya and Moa had been awarded for their performances during 2009. Moa did so well ending up as 4th Most Top Winning Ridgeback Bitch during 2009! Yaya did even a little bit better ending up as 3rd Most Topwinning Ridgeback Bitch and not only that, she was also 5th Best Field/Bloodtracking Ridgeback 2009! Their own photoalbums has been updated, for Moa HERE and for Yaya HERE. This year is not looking worse either! At this very moment Yaya holds the Number 1 spot as 2010's most Winning Ridgeback both Males and Bitches! I am happy for every second she get's to spend in the top... not sure she will stay there for the rest of the year... See the complete list HERE. The list for Fieldtracking dogs are also looking very nice with Yaya also in the Top there (not for much longer though I would guess...) This week Moa has started to play with the puppies, and she is doing it so well. I have to say that she is the best mom ever! She seems to be loving every minute of motherhood! The puppies are all so sweet, they all want to cuddle or play with you when you get in to the puppypen, and it is easy to get caught in there for a long time... It was Catharina Tandelfeldt from Hayawani and Johanna Segerlund from Mohaget. They helped me check the puppies once again for DS (Dermoid Sinus). And they did not find any! Very good feeling! They are all gaining weight and have more than doubled their birthweight by now. I get to sleep pretty well during the nights with only a few short wake ups to check them out, so I am enjoying this rest before the hard work begins in a few weeks! We have had one of the most special Swedish Nationality days ever! We went to Norrköping for the International Dogshow and we got everything we wanted and MORE! My princess Yaya took her 7th and final CAC for her Swedish Championtitle and also became Best Bitch with her first CACIB. Wilson did his debut in Championclass winning it and also becoming Best Male AND Best of Breed! That young boys is really rocking it! Today my precious prince Dando turns 7 years old. To be honest, every year that passes I always think how time flies... Even though Dando is far from old I do think how important it is to treasure each and every moment I have him in my life. I know he is a once in a lifetime dog and I couldn't have gotten a better first dog, or first Ridgeback! I hope to always have his great mind and personality in the back of my head when I breed dogs in the future. Because if I would get a dog like Dando again it would be priceless! I am very glad that my two girls Yaya and Moa has grown up with him and that their puppies also will. There is no one better than him to teach other dogs the important things in life! Food and love! ;o) I love you Dando of all my heart, I hope we will have atleast 7 more years together! A few new pictures of Dando can be found HERE. The puppies are doing very well so far. They are all eating and gaining weight. Moa continues to be an amazing mum loving every second of it! The puppies has now been checked twice for Dermois Sinus (DS) and none has been found! Wilson really had the best weekend of his life so far! After his gret success on Saturday he just kept on going in the same great style on Sundays show. He won over all the males and took his third and last CAC and became Swedish Champion! Just right before his first litter of puppies was born! Yaya also did great this day becoming 3rd Best Bitch! Breed entry was around 90-100 dogs and judge was Mr Hans Lehtinen, Finland. Yesterday Moa gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies! Four boys and three girls,
all with showquality ridges but one girl with kinked tail. All have white
marks on chest and some a few white toes, no excess white. Moa has done an amazing job and is taking such great care of her babies. It all started on Saturday afternoon when her temperature had gone down a bit. So I had a long night until Sunday keeping an eye on her. But this first opening stage of the delivery went on for a long time for her and she didn't start the real labour until lunchtime Sunday. About two hours after her water broke the first puppy arrived at 14.15 pm. Mr Green, a correct boy weighing 645 g! No wonders she has to work to get him out as first puppy! At 14.55 next puppy arrived, Ms Pink, a correct girl weighing 605 g. So a big girl too! At 15.09 the third puppy arrived, Mr Blue also a correct boy weighing 650 g. After him came another girl at 15.55, Ms Orange with correct ridge but with a bonus twist on her tail! At 16.52 the third correct boy arrived weighing 655 g, Mr Black. After him came the last girl at 17.08, Ms Red also correct. After her we had a long wait for 2 ½ hours until the last puppy arrived at 19.40. It was a very big boy, Mr Yellow that I had to assist and pull out since he came with nose first but front legs turned backwards and no longer in his protective "bladder" (can't find the english word...) I felt the hurry to get him out since I was afraid he wouldn't make it to long in there and Moa had a hard time to push this big one out... But with a lot of willpower and peptalk he came out and with some massage, breathing stimulation and mouth to mouth Mr Big as he is now called came to life and weighs 725 g!!! He is doing absolutely great and is now full of energy! After him Moa continued having contractions and I had a hard time to feel if there was a puppy left or just her uterus contracting. So after 4 hours Johanna and I drove to Bagarmossens Animalhospital to get her checked and do an X-ray to make sure they were all out. And they were so we could happily go back home to rest! So after about 44 hours awake with just a few short naps between Saturday and Sunday I felt more than exhausted and was happy to lay down on my bed next to the puppybox! The first night (or acctually morning since we got to bed at 4 am this morning) went very well and the only thing I had to do now and then was to help the puppies back closer to Moa when they had wandered off and started crying. Moa laid perfectly still the whole night being an amazingly good mother! I am so happy and proud! And what you have all been waiting for! Pictures! Yesterday two of the boys from the A-litter went to the woods outside of Norrtälje for some field/bloodtracking (ordinarie) for judge Leif Henriksson. Both dogs did amazing passing the test with a 1st prize making them both Swedish Field/Bloodtracking Champions! Dayo even tracked so well so the judged rewarded him with an Honours Prize. Our little hang around Zeus and his dad Ove also tracked yesterday and they nicely finnished their Championtitle too! HUGE congratulations to all three of you! Such great work! Moa is today on day 55. The other day I took some new pictures of her since I think a lot has happened in just a few days. Check them out on her Pregnancy page. There you can also see a short video of her belly where you can see some puppies moving and kicking! She is still doing very well but she is taking it easier and we only go for shorter walks around the neighbourhood now. She has started to use the puppybox and making it up the way she wants it. All the other dogs seems to enjoy this new comfy bed we now have in the livingroom aswell! Tomorrow she is on day 56 which means only one more week left before the assumed deliverydate (day 63)! | On request I have now updated Moa's pregnancy page with a lot of new pictures of her and her growing belly! I am so happy that she is doing so well. She is taking this new experience of a pregnancy so well, so far she is a natural! She is so happy and despite her extra kilos she walks with an easy step and runs around looking for food underneath every bush! I can't believe that we now have less than two more weeks to go! The puppybox is inplace and the livingroom redecorated to fit it's upcoming purpose. MORE X-RAY RESULTS! I have also recieved some more excellent X-ray results for two of the girls from the A-litter. KADAMO AMERICAN BROWNIE "Leya" and KADAMO A DREAM COME TRUE "Shila" both X-rayed with hips A/A and elbows 0/0! So far 5 dogs X-rayed and all with the same perfect score! I feel so happy and proud! | This weekend we had a very nice and sunny Sunday and I had my camera with me. I took some new photos of Moa with her growing belly that you can check out on her Pregnancypage. Also a few new photos of Yaya can be found HERE. Yesterday (Monday) on day 35 of Moa's pregnancy I did a third and last ultrasound. It was so much fun since the puppies has grown and is now moving around in their little bubbles when you watch them on the screen. I could see little heartbeats and what I think was legs kicking! Amazing! Moa had a bad period last week when she didn't want to eat anything but that is better now and she isn't as picky! ;o) She is still happy and even wanted to play on our walk today! Not as common anymore... |

Moa was on day 25 of her pregnancy and Johanna came to visit me at work.
Since she really wanted to be there and see the ultrasound for herself we
decided to do it that day and not wait until Monday as I had first planned. So with a little bit of guidence from my boss I performed the ultrasound on Moa who behaved so well standing still and being very patient with me! And we sure found puppies! According to my vet a lot of them, I wouldn't know! So fingers crossed that these next 5 weeks goes by with easy and that we will have a good delivery of puppies one of the last days of May! Last Friday I met Leya and her owner Carin and Dayo and his owners Lasse and Ingegerd before Yaya's mentalitytest. The weather was quite nice so of course I took the opportunity to take some new photos! First out is Leya at the age of 1 year, see her page HERE and new pictures HERE. |

Yaya has a new page called MH. Here you can find pictures, report/record and videos from Yaya's mentalitytest that she did on Friday. I am very happy with how she performed, she didn't get very scared and easily calmed down and went back to normal after each part of the test. That is the most important thing to me, that she can be curious to check out what the scary thing was but after that not be touched by it anymore. |

can see Yaya during one part of the test where they check the dogs fear/interest
in sound. She handled this so well! No fear or even hesitation she just
walked straight up to it with her normal curious personality! More pictures, videos and her complete results will come as soon as I can! |
