| I am very
happy to announce my litter planned for winter 2010/2011.
This will my precious imported girl Yaya's first litter and I am very excited
to be able to make such an exciting combination for this litter. Y Yaya was mated to Akala on 28th and 30th of October, which means puppies are expected to be born just days before New years and they will then be ready to move to their new homes by the end of February. The male I have chosen for her is Akala, a Canadian male who is both Canadian and American Champion. He recieved both these titles easily, the Canadian title from only three shows and the US Championship from five, all these wins under different judges. He has passed the Canadian Good Neighbour test which can be compared with the Swedish Mentalitytest. This test is more from normal situations that the dog will most likely experience in everyday life. For example meeting new people, animals, loud noises, meeting shopping carts and wheelchairs and so on. The dog is also left for 4 minutes with an unknown person and Akala passed all these tests with ease. Akala has been described by many as a very happy dog who always has a smile on his face and a wagging tail. To me that is like a description of Yaya aswell. I was very happy to get the opportunity to spend some time with this special boy when Yaya and I travelled to Slovakia for the mating. I know what a privilege this is to have Akala in Europe for this mating instead of having to do an AI. Akala was everything that I expected him to be. A wonderful and kind personality, calm but yet easy to get started to play, and just like he had been described to me, he always had a wagging tail and smiling face! Akala normally lives in Canada but was brought to Europe for this mating with Yaya and two other bitches in Slovakia, so this was a real once in a lifetime opportunity! I will be forever greatful to Gayle Clarkson, his breeder and owner and to Milada Krchnava at Luanda Ridgebacks for making this dream reality! A little bit about my girl then. Yaya is always happy and has a very energetic and playful personality. She has been a one of a kind dog already from the day I got her. Very confident and relaxed but at the same time she does everything with a smile and she is definetely a "Mumma's girl" always wanting to be where I am. She has gone from clearity to clearity in the showring starting her puppycareer with several Best of Breed, Best In Group and Best in Show placements. She continued these winning ways becoming Best of Breed and BIG-4 gaining her first CAC at her first official show only 11 months old. After that the BOB and BOS placements has been lined up and she easily got her Swedish Championtitle after her 2nd Birthday. She also celebrated that with Winning her first entry in Championclass at Swedish Winner Show-10 gaining BOS and the SEW-10 title! She was also placed as 3rd Most Top Winning Ridgeback bitch in Sweden 2009 and this year she currently holds the number 4 position! This summer we also made a trip to Finland were she won all three days at SAWO show making her New Finnish Champion with three CACIBs and one BIG-1 to top that off with! When I look outside the showring she has shined just as bright. She is an amazing bloodtracker and has up to this day never recieved anything less than a 1st prize on her tracking competitions! So her Swedish Bloodtrackingtitle was gained easily at the age of one year. Last year she was 5th Best Bloodtracking Ridgeback in Sweden and she is currently this year holding the number 1 spot at this list! At the beginning of this fall I started to compete with Yaya in Obedience. She has always been good at this but I have really bad competive nervs so I have waited until now to compete. But I had nothing to be nervous about. From three competitions Yaya won three straight 1st prizes and with that got her LP1 title! At her third competition she also won the whole thing and she is currently the 5th Best Obedience Ridgeback in Sweden for this year, and that with only three competitions! Yaya is a dog with a lot of speed and one of her favourite activites (after chasing after deers) is lure coursing. She has only tried this a few times but knows for sure what I expect of her and she delivers! From this litter I am expecting puppies that will fit a person who wants a dog to work with, in obedience, tracking, agility or such. Yaya has been an outstanding workingdog already from puppy age and I hope that she will pass this on to her puppies. If these puppies get anything from their mum I want to see them in active homes because I think that is were they will do the best! I of course hope to see some of these puppies become showpotential and rock the showrings in the future! |
