PICTURE UPDATE OF THE CANADIANS!
Some of our little wonders!
After a couple of very long days I think I am back in buisness. I have eaten and I have slept! Now these two long months of puppywatch can begin! The first individual pictures and the first mixed pictures is now up on the page! Enjoy!
A quick report of Yaya's delivery:
Our first puppy arrived at 00.45 on Thuesday morning (29th) and it was a girl. She got is now called Ms Orange and she weighed 540 g and has a correct ridge but unfortuntely a tiny little kink on her tail. After her two boys arrived only four minutes apart at 01.20 and 01.24. First was Mr Lightblue weighing 560 g and then it was Mr Blue weighing 515 g, both boys showquality.
Less then 30 minutes later at 01.50 boy number three arrived, Mr Black weighing 525 g also him showquality. After him we got our second girl, Ms Red at 02.13 who I first thought looked correct but who I now think has a singlecrowned ridge, weighing 463 g. After her Mr Darkgreen arrived at 02.30 weighing 413 g and he has a singlecrowned ridge. These first 6 puppies all arrived within 1 hour and 45 minutes! Pretty fast work there!
But after them the longer waiting began. At 03.25 one more girl arrived, Ms Pink who is showquality, weighing 480 g. After her we got to wait again until 05.00 for Mr Brown, a showquality boy weighing 460 g. At 06.43 Mr Camo arrived, unfortunately him also with singlecrowned ridge, weighing 490 g. After him our fourth and last girl came at 08.25. Little Ms Purple weighing 380 g being the smallest one right now. A pretty showquality girl!
Two more boys came after her, but they sure took their time! at 11.23 (three hours after Ms Purple) Mr Green arrived weighing 400 g and he is showquality. And again three more hours of waiting our last boy Mr Beige arrived at 14.25 weighing 370 g being the smallest one. He unfortunately has a singlecrowned ridge and a kinked tail.
Yaya did so well during the whole delivery! She took care of her puppies as soon as they arrived, rested, slept, ate when I offered her food and just saved up energy inbetween the deliverys. She didn't have any difficulties at all which I am very happy about! She handled everything so well by herself! A natural talent!
In the evening yesterday Anna Wright from Hamnuddens Kennel came to do the first check for Dermoid Sinus. This is something I fear everytime I have a litter and unfortunately this time I had reason too. One DS was found on Mr Darkgreen and it was confirmed today after I had shaved his neck. All puppies got a second check again today by Sonja Nilsson from Roseridge Kennel and all but Mr Darkgreen is clear of DS.
So it is with a lot of sadness I have to say that we now only have 11 puppies at home. Mr Darkgreen will be collected bu Nicolette Salmon Hillbertz and be a part of her research around Dermoid Sinus in Rhodesian Ridgebacks. So because of this this day has been one of the worst in my life. But as a breeder of this breed DS is something you know you can get in your litters and I at this stage have to feel happy that it was just one and that the rest of the puppies seems to be strong, healthy and full of energy!

I also want to thank my dear friend Lotta at Zaxxon's Kennel for everything! Just having you on the phone no matter what my concern is always relaxes me! And thank you for letting me ventilate my feelings on dear Mr Darkgreen aswell today! The hardest decision I have had to make, even though I know I didn't have a choice.
