KADAMO MÄSTERSKAPEN VILTSPÅR 2010

This year was the first time for the hopefully in the future annual Kadamo Mästerskapen in Field/Bloodtracking. We were a group of 10 dogs and 14 people that headed for Årsund outside of Sandviken during the weekend 7-9th of May.
We arrived in the afternoon on Friday and after a nice gathering at Olle and Kickis gorgeous house we all arrived at Bysämjan which was out home for the next few days.
We got started right away with a lesson from our two field/bloodtracking judges Gunilla and Yvonne in the game of tracking. Shortly after that the three dogs that had not yet done their aptitudetests left for the woods to do that. The rest of us got to stay and learn more about the tracking and training your dog in this.
In time for dinner our three aptitudetest dogs (Charlie, Keba and Crosby) arrived back with their happy owners! They had all passed their tests!
We had a very nice dinner and the clock turned late before everyone was ready to go to bed.

Did I say we were happy?!

Ove and Lasse is showing you why we were happy!

Anna is feeling that her matress is not exactly the same standard as Carins...

We started early on Saturday morning, most of us not really rested after the first night with the 10 dogs in one room... ;o) But the mood was on top and we hit the woods after a little theory session. Our first job was to lay practice tracks for our dogs and then meet up for lunch.
After that we all drove to the woods to take the dogs together with the judge trough these practice tracks. Everyone got some individual feedback from their judge.
This track Moa got to do since she is to far into her pregnancy to be allowed to compete. But just because you have a slightly bigger belly it doesn't mean you can't do a little bit of activating activities!
Moa did very well and I am so happy to see how she has become such a great tracker now with age, a lot better than she was as a young dog working towards her Championtitle.

Later on in the afternoon we all went to the woods again for the first Openclass track. This was the first attempt at this for most of the dogs and they all did so well! Every single dog recieved a 1st prize! Congratulations to you all!

It was a sleepy group having dinner that evening and all the dogs and every person slept a lot better this night! Just think what a little bit of mind activation can do for a young (read wild) dog!

Sunday arrived and the last day for us in Sandviken. Today was the day for the BIG Kadamo Mästerskapen 2010. The beautiful Trophy was on everybodys mind and all dogs did a good job trying to win it!
Just like yesterday the dogs shined and every single one recieved a 1st prize again! To be mentioned is that both Kadamo boys Ramoz and Dayo recieved maximum points (42p ) each day!
After lunch it was time for the winner to be announced. And the winner was our number 1 Hang around Zeus! HUGE congratulations to him and owners Ove and Camilla! Zeus recieved a maximum score of 42 points and Honours prize, the only one that was handed out this weekend..
If you are curious to read the Kadamo dogs judge comments please visit each dogs own page and look under "Blood/Fieldtracking".

I want to give a very BIG thank you to Charlies dad Olle who has been the one to arrange this lovely weekend! I hope and think everyone enjoyed it just as much as me and I hope to see you all back next year to fight for the Trophy that will be given to the winner of each year!
Thank also to our two judges Gunilla and Yvonne from GDK!
