SUNDSVALL/SÄLEN Oktober 2010

On Friday evening me and all three dogs left for Sundsvall. I got to share a hotellroom with Charlie (Kadamo Don't mess with Texas) and his owner Olle and Jossan. I arrived quite late so it was straight to bed to rest for the show the next day.
So Saturday morning comes and after walking the dogs I got to enjoy a very nice breakfast buffé at the hotel, soooo nice! So with that we left for the showground that was only about 10 minutes away.

Today's breedentry was 31 and judge was Joo Scheepers, NL. First out in the ring was me with Charlie for the first time in Openclass. Charlie did very well and won the class and also the only one to have recieved Championquality. So time for best male, were we got to compete against Camilla and Zeus who was the intermediateclass winner and against Liselott and Wesley who had won the Championclass. These three dogs were the only males who had recieved CQ so not even 5 Best male placements this day! After some running the judge picked out Zeus and Camilla as winners with their first CAC and CACIB, me and Charlie as 2nd Best male with R-CACIB and Wesley as 3rd Best male.
So time for Bitchclasses were I in Openclass showed Xanni who placed nicely 2nd with Championquality. In Championclass Yaya and I won with CQ and went on to compete for Best Bitch. Yaya won this recieving CACIB and later on also Best of Breed against Zeus!

After the show we had time to let the dogs playand go for a walk.
Boston (Kadamo This is Boston) joined us today and it was very nice to se him and his mum Åsa again. Pictures of him coming soon!
I was happy also to see that my friend Renata was at the show and had also made it to Best of Breed with her australian cattledog, so I got some company waiting for the groupfinals.
Yaya was picked out for placement and finished as BIG-4! A nice ending of a nice day! Thank you all for your nice company!

The same day but back home two of the B-litter puppies made their showdebut. It was Nando (Kadamo You Know My Name) who was 3rd Best Male puppy with Honours Prize and Enya (Kadamo Ain't She Sweet) who won Best Bitch puppy with Honours Prize and was later BOS.
Great job and congratulations to both of you!

When the show finished on Saturday afternoon me and the dogs got back into the car but instead of driving towards home we set the GPS on Kläppen, Sälen. I had taken a coupe of days off work to have some quality time up in the north with the dogs at my Dad's cabin.
So late in the evening we finally arrived and hit the bed again. About ten hours later I woke up ready to meet the day!
Today I drove to Högfjällshotellet were I parked my car and then followed a 10 kilometer long track around the mountains and valleys there.
It was extremely windy the first half ot the hike making mereally miss my gloves back in Stockholm... But the sun came out more and more and we had a really great walk for a couple of hours.

Dando enjoys it too!

Muddy Moa...

After our first hike I stopped in some stores on the way home to buy some warmer clothes, getting ready for day two outdoors! ;-) A pizza dinner later and some relaxing time in the sauna and the infront of the TV me and the dogs slept very well for another long night!
That is the best thing with going away for a few days, to catch up on some sleep! Something I really needed!
So Monday arrives and our second day out hiking. Today I parked the car at Gammelgården at walked a 15 kilometres track around Lindvallen. Great views and amazing weather! Sunny, blue sky but cold!

Moa became my little hunter during this trip always looking out for small rodents...

And the stupid dog found at least one... And it is no more... Here she is smelling it after being told that they are not ok to kill!

Another great day with three tired dogs and one tired owner! A lazy evening once again before our last day and drive home on Thuesday. This last day we only walked around our cabin in Kläppen and started our drive back home after lunch.
This was my and the dogs second time ever up north hiking and I loved it just as much as I did last summer. I will really try to do this at least once a year. The dogs love it so much and the sceneries up north are just amazing, despite time of the year.
So to each and everyone out there who is thinking about doing this with your dogs, DO IT! (Check out the pictures from my trip to the north last year HERE.)
