| ASKERSUND August 2010 |
| Friday evening
Johanna, me, Yaya, Dando and Wilson drove to Västra Å outside
of Askersund to meet up with almost half of the A-litter. It was time for
the two day show in Askersund, one International and one Speciality show. I have great memories from these shows since Moa became New Champion and BOS there last year on the first day and 2nd Best Bitch the second day. Yaya was then BOB/BISS on the Speciality! So we had to try to keep our honour this year! After a mandatory stop at the candyshop in Hummelsta we arrived at the cottage and got ourselves comfortable enjoying to catch up with the lovely people there. When the clock started ticking late we all got to bed to rest before the first day of showing. On Saturday it was the International show judged by Zoran Brankovic breed entry about 80. First out was Charlie and Ramoz in intermediateclass. They both behaved well and the judged was very careful choosing his winners, he moved the dogs around in placement several times before deciding. Charlie ended up as 3rd in the class and Ramoz.... |

| After that
it was time for Wilson and Bosco (dad to the A-litter) to enter the Championclass.
Wilson won the class and Bosco was 2nd! Great job boys! I was very proud
of the two sires of my B- and A-litter! So time for best male! A lot of running later Wilson stood as winner of Best Male with CACIB! Bosco ended up as 4th Best Male! Congrats Johanna and Lotta! |

| It was now
time for the Breeders groups and for the first time I had my own group!
Th group consisted of Ramoz, Leya, Gaya and Charlie. It was three groups
competing and my group won! So nice for our first time! Our critique: "Similar type, nice head. Typical ridge, good stop and bottom line. Good set tails. Very good in action." So for both us and Wilson it was time to wait for the finals! We were first out competing for Best in Show Breeders group and it was a lot of groups there, I would guess between 10-15. Judging the groups was Andrezej Kazmierski from Poland. When we were picked out for Top 5 I was so happy! Such a great thing to be placed in the finals first time you try! And when the placements got down to being just us and the Dalmatians left we were quite nervous and got to do a last lap of running. We got the very honourable 2nd place this time which I am so extremely proud about!!! THANK YOU Therese, Carin and Anna for the absolutely superb performance! So proud of you all to achieve this from minimum of practice!!! Best in Show-2 breeders group... Can live on that for a while! Johanna and Wilson entered the Group-6 final judged by Eva Jönsson. She liked Wilson a lot and placed him as the most beautiful dog in the Group! BIG-1! Congratulations Johanna! |

| After the
show we headed back to our litte cottage to get ready for our BBQ. Anna
and I decided to go for a swim in the nearby lake. We got some company from
of course our dogs but also Sabine, Norbert, Jenna, Bajuni, Olle, Buster
and Charlie. The water was really nice and I enjoyed it alot! So did Yaya and Gaya who both did some swimming! The other dogs mostly stayed on land! Once back at the house the BBQ was fired up and the mood was high. We had a very lovely dinner in perfect company, not just us from the Kadamo pack but also from Lotta, Maximus, Jocke, Sandra, Alvin, Ewa, Edith and Henk from the Zaxxon gang. Thank you all for coming over! It was a pleasure to have you there and I hope we can do the same again one day! |

Sunday comes and an even earlier start of the day. We all drove to the showground and was there around 8 am to get settled before todays Ridgeback Speciality Show would start. It was judged by Andrezej Kazmierski and breed entry was about 100. Charlie and Ramoz was first out in the intermediateclass doing very well both recieving 1st prize in quality (some dogs did not). Left for placement in the class was 6 dogs and the judge said they were all excellent dogs and he was sad to only be able to place 5 of them, so he had to say thank you to one and unfortunately today that was Ramoz, who ended up as 6th best dog in the class. Charlie finished as 3rd in the class with Championquality which meant he would compete in Best Male. Next out from us was Johanna and Wilson in Championclass. They just kept the flow from the day before winning the class and also winning Best Male! The A-litters dad Bosco was 2nd Best Championmale and 4th Best male overall! Very proud of both the sires I have used! Charlie unfortunately wasn't placed this time but instead he competed in the end of the day for Best ridge which he won! Great job sweet boy! |

Time for the girls to enter the ring. Today I had three girls in Intermediateclass, except for Leya and Gaya we also had sweet Jenna (Kadamo First Lady) from Germany there for the show. They all did very well today gaining 1st prizes. In placement Jenna finished as 5th in class, Leya as 4th and lovely Gaya went all the way and won the class with Championquality! Great job Anna! Then it was my turn with Yaya in Championclass. Yaya stood nicely but I think she didn't move as well as she could but despite that she won the class! Her critque: "High quality bitch. Very elegant in style. Dry feminine head. Absolutely well constructed and well angulated. Moves freely but carry her tail little to high, in the faster speed she becmoes converting coming and going, rest is Fantastic." So time for Best bitch for both Yaya and Gaya. I was soooo happy to see both girls picked out for Top 5 and placement! Gaya finished as 5th Best Bitch and Yaya got to keep on running for the number 1 position. It was a close call by my wonderful girl got the win for her femininity according to the judge! |

| So
for the third time this summer me and Yaya was up against Johanna and Wilson
to compete for Best of Breed/BISS. I already knew the judge liked Wilson
a lot so I wasn't surprised to see the red ribbon go to him. Congratulations
Johanna and Wilson! I am very proud of the sire of the B-litter and his
nice BISS win! And Yaya RUBISS this year! That means she got to give back her BOB/BISS trophy and give it to Johanna and get the BOS/RUBISS one instead this year, pretty ok too, for a dog to have had them both! |

The day wasn't finished yet! Of course I had my breeders group entered today aswell! And we did just aswell as our first try the day before winning it again! GREAT JOB girls! I am so proud of each and everyone of you for showing your dogs so nicely making us win this! Our group critique: "Lovely group. All the members similar in style and type. High quality type. Fantastic Team." As I already mentioned Charlie was also entered in Best ridge which he won and Gaya was picked out in Top 5 for Best Head. So it wasn't a bad day at all for me and the Kadamo pack! Just an amazing ending of the summer, finishing with our heads held high and very proud! |

After a long day we packed up our things and headed back to our cottage to pack up the last of our stuff. Then when the car was packed me and Johanna went back to the showground to wait for the Best In Show finals that was held in the afternoon. After some more waiting and some rain it finally started, judged by Paul Odenkircher from Canada. 10 beautiful dogs competed for the 5 placements and Wilson was one of the lucky to be picked out! It was so exciting standing by waiting for the speaker to call out the placements! When he didn't say ridgeback for the 5th one I was so happy! And when he didn't say it for 4th place either I was really nervous! Wilson ended up as 3rd Best In Show!!! Not at all bad for a ridgeback who rarely place in the Best in Show ring! HUGE congrats Johanna! Enjoy this win for a long time and make sure it doesn't slip your mind what a great dog you have! Not just handsome but sweet, loving and the best playful daddy to his puppies too! With some organisation and determined minds we got everything in the car and drove back to Stockholm and back to reality. I am back with having all my dogs with me just the way it should be! |
