VARBERG/TVÅÅKER DOGSHOWS 2009

On Saturday morning me and the dogs got up early and started our long drive towards the westcoast. We arrived in the early afternoon at my parents little house and they first thing we did was to relax in the garden.
Silly me of course got badly sunburned and have been peeling for the rest of the week...
After a some sleeping in the garden we walked down to the ocean and the dogs and me got to enjoy the very warm water. Unfortunately I can't swim together with the dogs because both Dando and Moa sort of panic when I am so far into the water...
As long as Dando sees my hands he is ok with me being in the water further out than him, but I so much as take one stroke in the water he comes to my rescue... This is of course very sweet of him, if I had needed to be rescued...

On Monday morning I headed towards Gothenburg and our first stop Floda. There I met up with fieldtracking judge Stig Löfgren and Yaya got to track for him. She did an amazing job as always recieving a 1st prize with Honours Prize! Her third so far!

After this we drove to Lerum to visit our little Ms Orange, puppy Gaya and her Mum Anna and Dad Daniel. We spend a nice few hours with them and the dogs had time to play, get photographed and beg for treats and food.
Gaya is just as lovely as she was when she left 2 months ago. She is a big girl and with just an as big heart. Anna and Daniel, you are doing a great job with her and I am very proud of you all!
Thank you for a lovely lunch and a relaxing day at your beautiful home! I do hope I will get to see all of you again soon!

After our little reunion with Gaya we left and drove to Alafors to visit Patricia and Tina from kennel Vereus Qoya. We had a lovely dinner with them and the dogs got to play in the garden. Moa who was in heat found a lover in the 10 year old RR bitch Inka... The two of them lived happily ever after in the garden while Dando tried to beg for food and Yaya play with Sancy and Leo.
After our very nice dinner and chitchat we drove to meet up with a bunch of lovely dogs and owners for some showtraining. I tried to teach them how we people from Stockholm do it... ;o)
It was a very nice evening and it was nice to meet some new people who share the same interest as me!

After that we drove home late in the evening to meet Johanna and Wilson who had now arrived on the westcoast aswell. Wilson thought Moa was stunning and smelling just lovely. Moa thought Wilson was discusting and smelled awful! ;o)
Wilson did somoe very good attempts on trying to win Moa's heart but she thought he was way to young and wild. Moa only had her eyes on her loverboy Dando!
The rest of the week was spend relaxing at our parents house, some swimming for the dogs and shopping for me.

On Friday it was time for the National Dog Show in Tvååker. The first day out of two of Swedens largest outdoor show! This day all the dogs was entered and Wilson was first out. Judge today was Ivana Bakal from Croatia. Wilson entered Intermediate class for the 2nd time now 16 months old. He did a great job in a large class winning it with Championquality.
We then waited for Best Male and to my surprise we won it and became Best Male gaining his first Swedish CAC!

And he got it! Best Male with his first CAC!
After Wilson it was my girls turn to enter the ring. I had no expectations for my girls this day so I was happily surprised when they both won their classes with Championquality.
This meant that Johanna for the first time had to step in to help me show one of them in the Best Bitch class. I had a hinch that the judge had especially liked Yaya so I decided to show her myself and Johanna got to show Moa. It was a very big class and Yaya was picked out in the Top 5. Unfortunately Moa wasn't but her and Johanna did a great job, thank you for the help! Hopefully I will need it again!
Yaya did a great job in the ring aswell and made it all the way to 2nd Best bitch! The winner was already a Champion so the CAC went to Yaya! Her second from juniorclass!
So now it was time for Wilson to compete for Best of Breed. He did not win over the lovely Championbitch Karangas Dee Sibel but we were still more than happy with his Best of Opposite Sex placement!
(Some pictures from this hopefully coming soon, my battery on my camera was dead by now... So Johanna got to borrow another one...)

Yayas critique:
"Elegant female with excellent bonestructure. Elegant head and neck, excellent topline, correct chest and forechest. Excellent movements."

Moa's critique:
"Excellent type, size and bonestructure. Beautiful head, elegant head, topline should be better, excellent tailset, corrcet chest and forechest, excellent movements."

After a very happy and successful first showday I was more than saticfied! Getting both the male and the bitch CAC and BOS and 2nd Best Bitch was a lot more than I had hoped for. I had my hopes on Yaya the second day since that was a judge who had liked her earlier this year.
So getting a CAC on Friday felt very good!

And maybe it was to good... Perhaps it made me relaxed in the morning when we were cleaning out the apartment we had stayed in before the show. But after a while my normal stressed out seld started to appear adn on the way to the show I felt like throwing up in the car... We were running late and I couldn't get a hold of anyone at the show to hear how far along they were.
At the showground we were directed towards the furthest end of the parking and by now I was going mad. So I got out with Yaya and started running to the gate while Johanna parked the car.
Now I got a phonecall from Jenny with Vimla that they were starting the juniorclass! I said that I was running as fast as I could! After a minute she called me again saying that they were taking a five minute break... Tahnk you god for that! (And Jenny!)
So I finally arrived at the ring very warmed up and quickly changed into my showjacket, filled my pocket with meatballs and breathed for about a minute before it was time to enter the ring...
Belive me, from now on I will be at the showground at the latest when the breed starts... This judge had gone trough about 30 males in 1 hour!
Anyway, Yaya and I enterend the juniorclass and the judge Åke Cronander, Sweden, did recognize her which was good because he placed her as number 1 in the class wit Championquality.
Then we had some time to breath and relax before it was time for Best Bitch. Today aswell as yesterday it was a large class with several good looking dogs so I was very nervous just hoping for a placement.
So I was thrilled to be picked out in the Top 5! After some running and some change in positions I was running as number one and that was the judge final decision!
Wohooo! Best Bitch with her 3rd CAC only 14 months old! I was as proud as could be! But no time to rest, we were up against todays Best Male Ansiceros Guiness By Aslan (who became Champion today, Congratulations!) to compete for Best of Breed. And believe it or not, Yaya took it!
I have now put Mr Åke Cronander on my Favourite Judge list!
Yaya's 2nd Best of Breed as Junior! (If she wasn't a junior she would now also have had two CACIB...) In my ears it sounds like a dream! And I can't believe it is true!

Yaya's critique:
"Synnerligen tilltalande helhet. Härligt huvud och uttryck. Utmärkt hals. Mycket bra kropp för åldern, Tillräckligt förbröst. Goda vinklar, bra ben och tassar. Utmärkta rörelser."

We went home for lunch and rest (well I rested, Yaya played with Wilson) before going back to the showground to compete in Best in Group 6.
I had no expectations but it is always a plessure to run into the Big ring! Judge was Niels Brandstrup from Norway. He harldy looked at us at the prewiev so I was pretty sure I would be thanked off immediately. But no... I was picked out in the Top 5 which meant a placement!
And not only that, we got all the way to BIG-3 which is great according to me! Johanna and my parents were there to watch and it was great to be placed when they were all there.
But the prizes we got... well, one I stilldon't know what I will do with... His name is Laxen, Hallandslaxen... (photo below...)

Anne (you know what I am going to say...) I will be forever greatful for this little princess! She is just the dog I have always wanted to own, and now I do! Thank you for trusting her with me!
And I also want to say thank you to Sonja for making sure that Johanna bought Wilson! He was a promising puppy and I know he has made you very proud already!
I feel blessed to have these two young showdogs to enjoy the future showscene with!

We celebrated our victorys with a lovely homemade cake! Of course the dogs got to wash the plates afterwards!

With that I am ending this little photoreport and I hope you have enjoyed it!
