RIDGEBACK SPECIALITY SHOW!

On Friday Johanna and Wilson took the train to Lund to attend the big speciality show in Barsebäck. On Saturday it was time for the males and they were judged by Barbara Rupert, USA. Wilson was shown in Championclass. He did well ending up as 5th Best champion, but after that unplaced in Best male.
Johanna and Wilson had great company from Helene with Chanel and Tiisha who was there for the whole weekend, thanks to you for letting us share your apartment!
Yaya's brother Arttu (CH Tarujen Uwayo) was shown again this weekend and this time he went all the way! Arttu won his class and also Best Male with his Swedish CAC making him Swedish Champion! CONGRATULATIONS Hanna and Anne!

In the afternoon on Saturday my puppywatch Sara arrived at home so me and Yaya got in the car and started our 6 hours long drive towards Barsebäck to attend the show on Sunday. We arrived there around 22 pm feeling quite tired. Those times makes you wonder why you are doing this?!
Hanna and Arttu was suppose to head back to Stockholm and the ferry to Finland but was lucky enough to be able to get a lift home later with Ammi and Kaisa. So Hanna and Arttu crashed on the couch at the place that we were renting together with Helene, and I think that was very worth it! So nice to spend some more time with both of you!

On Sunday morning Chanel was first out from our pack doing her first entry in intermediate class just 16 months old. Chanel who has been very uncomfortable in the ring has improved a lot and did better this time. The judge gave her a nice critique and a 1st prize, but unfortunately not placed today.
In the same class was Yaya's niece Unna (daughter of Yaya's finnish halfbrother) and she did excellent winning the class with CQ.
Yaya was shown in a very strong championclass with a nice critique too but this day the judge thought she was to small, so no placement today:

"Substantial bitch with good outline. Handsome head, strong female qualities. Good earplacement, could be a bit larger. Good shoulder lay back, upperarm return. Level topline, good underline. Strong rear. Good tailset and length. Easy on the move."

In Best Bitch class the success stayed in the family with Unna winning with her first Swedish CAC! Congratulations Ammi!
The show went on for the whole day and it was almost 7 pm when it was time for Best of Breed/BISS-10. So Arttu and Unna running against eachother!
And handsome Arttu took the victory and the title of BISS-10!! Way to go bro!

Thank you all for a very nice short weekend in Skåne! Our 6 hours + drive home after that long day was rough and I fell asleep easily when my head hit the pillow after 2 am...

SUMMERWALK WITH LEYA AND CARIN!

Yesterday after my 5 hours at work I met up with Carin who owns Leya from the A-litter. We took a very nice walk in the sunny warm weather with all the dogs. (With all dogs I mean everyone expect Moa who was at home with the puppies and Johanna.)
Earlier this spring they changed the route of the small creek were I often walk, which means that they have been digging and cutting the grass shorter on the fields.
The dogs get absolutely nuts when walking here! Feels like being on the beach! Sand under your feet and water to cool off in!
Since Yaya has had her phantom pregnancy this extra wild exercise is doing her good! Her and the rest of the dogs are loving it!

Enjoy the pictures below of the dogs having fun! Also a few new photos of gorgeous Leya now 14 ½ months old!

YAYA NEW SWEDISH CHAMPION AND SUCCESS FOR KADAMO PACK AT NORRKÖPING INT. DOGSHOW!

Yesterday it was time for the International Dogshow in Norrköping this year judged by Tiina Illukka from Finland. Since I had let Johanna show Yaya last weekend I really felt the urge to go and do it myself this time.
So my dear dear friend Michele came and assisted me with looking after Moa, Dando and the puppies so I could go to the show.
We left early in the morning and arrived well in time to the show. I had time to warm up with Charlie (Kadamo Don't Mess with Texas) that I was going to show in juniorclass.

He did well and finished nicely 2nd with Championquality behind our hang-arounds Camilla and Zeus. Congratulations Camilla!

Charlies critique:
"Bra storlek och proportiner. Fint maskulint huvud. Bra hals och överlinje. Välvinklad. Bra benstomme. Rör sig bra från sidan, något vid fram. Välvisad. Fin muskulös kondition."

After him it was Johanna and Wilson's turn to enter Championclass for the first time! And they did as good as they could, winning the class with Championquality.

Wilson's critique:
"Bra storlek och proportioner. Maskulint huvud med bra... Fin hals och överlinje. Välvinklad. Bra korrekt benstomme. Rör sig bra."

So time for Best male, only 6 dogs had recieved CQ and I was so happy to see that all of us was picked out for Top 5. Johanna and Wilson won it becoming Best Male with CACIB, Camilla and Zeus came on 4th place and me and Charlie on 5th!
Not a bad start of the day!

So time for bitchclasses. Yaya was shown in Openclass and there Johanna also showed Xanni from Djungelkattens Kennel. Both these girls did well and battled it out in the end, and Yaya won the class and Xanni came 2nd both recieving Championquality.

Yaya's critique:
"Välbalanserad helhet. Utmärkt huvud och uttryck. Fin hals och överlinje. Välvinklad. Bra förbröst, väl välvd bröstkorg. Rör sig väl."

So time for Best bitch and I was nervous... Competing for that final CAC to make Yaya Champion... I was very happy to see the judge pick us out and placing us first and then having us run. I always say that it isn't over until it is over so I never relax until the judge point at me as winner... And today she did!!!
Yaya winning her 7th and last CAC as Best Bitch with CACIB! Is no better way to finnish off a title!

Time to meet Johanna and Wilson to battle it out for Best of Breed. The judge really liked both dogs and asked if they were related... which they are not, just tow pretty dogs! TOday Wilson was this judged cup of tea and he won his first Best Of Breed! Congratualtions Johanna! Not a bad start of this summer... Best Male three shows in a row!
Johanna stayed at the show to wait for the group final where she ended up BIG-4! Good job!

I was lucky to get a lift back home with Camilla, Ove and Zeus, thank you guys for that! And as always Ove! Darling! THANK you for all the great pictures! You should go pro!

RIDGEBACK SPECIALITY SHOW AT ÅRSTA SLOTT!

On Sunday Johanna left with Wilson and Yaya to the Speciality Show in Årsta. Wilson was now fighting for his last CAC since he recieved his 2nd the day before.
First out in the ring from our pack was Charlie (Kadamo Don't mess with Texas) who ended up 3rd Best Junior with Honours prize. After him it was Wilson's turn to enter the Openclass and he did a rerun of Saturday winning the class again with CQ!
Good position for best male class...
The judge today was Hans Lehtinen from Finland and he was pretty hard handing out a lot of blue and also yellow ribbons.
But the breed entry today was quite big so it was still a pretty large Best Male class Wilson was competing in.
But he did it! He won the whole thing becoming Best Male second time in one weekend recieving his 3rd CAC making him a NEW CHAMPION!
And that just minutes before his first puppy was born at home with me! Clever boy!

In bitchclasses we had Chanel (Kadamo Lady in Red) in juniorclass behaving a bit better this time. She still isn't a fan of the showring so she will get a break for more practice during the summer and thenhopefully come back and shine! She recieved a blue ribbon today but still a pretty nice critique.
In Openclass Yaya was shown together with about 15 other bitches. And she was happier today when it wasn't raining! She finished 2nd in the class qith CQ!
In Best bitch she was placed as 3rd Best Bitch, just one dog behind that last CAC... But I don't mind that she didn't get it. Now I will hopefully get to be the one showing her when she gets it!

Wilson ended up BOS against the beautiful Championbitch Rex Ventors Pilgrim who became BOB/BIS today! Congratulations to all!

(Unfortunately Johanna forgot to get Wilson and Yaya's critiques but they will be send to us... so I will update with them later!)

Below are some mixed pictures from the day, taken by Johanna, Ove Larsson and Sonja Nilsson. Thank you all for the pictures!

WILSON ROCKING THE SHOWRING!

On Saturday mornign Johanna left with Wilson and Yaya for the International Dogshow in Österbybruk judged by Ann Carlström, Sweden. First out in the ring was Ramoz (Kadamo The Stage is set for You) and he did well getting a 1st prize and finnishing as 3rd Best Juniormale.

His critique:
"Stor hane, maskulint huvud, mörka ögon, välformade. Mycket fint nosparti, utmärkt hals och överlinje. Välformad bröstkorg men något kort i sitt bröstben. Bra skuldra men något rakställd överarm. Lagom vinklad bak, utmärkt benstomme och tassar. Rör sig bra bak, skulle ha längre steg fram, något paddlande tassar. Utmärkt ridge, bra päls."

After him it was Wilson's turn in Openclass. Wilson did amazing and won the whole class with CQ!

His critque:
"Lagom stor, fina proportioner, maskulint huvud. Mörka korrekt formade ögon, väl ansatta öron, något mycket kind. Utmärkt hals och överlinje. Välkroppad, bra skuldra. Något rakställd överarm. Bra vinklad bak. Står och går med utåt vridna tassar fram. Rör sig utmärkt från sidan men något ostabilt fram. Värformad ridge som kunde vara något längre. Utmärkt päls och färg."

After that they got to wait a little while for Best Male and then it was Wilson's turn to shine again! He beat both the Championmales and the veteranmale and became Best Male with CAC, CACIB and later on also BOS! Congratulations Johanna! This was Wilsons 2nd CAC, so now he only has one more to go for his Championtitle!

Johanna also showed Yaya but by now the rain was pooring down which was not ok according to this little girl. She did not show herself that well but still managed to get a 1st prize and a 3rd place in the class. Her critique coming soon!

WAITING AND WAITING!

Moa is today on day 59 of her pregnancy, so things can start happening any day now. She is still feeling good it seems, though she sleeps a lot, saving up energy for her job to come! She is still eating but she needs something extra tasty on the top to do it... ;o) Her temperature seems to be very steady on 37,5 degrees and she has only had one small dip to 37,1 so nothing exciting there. We will just keep on waiting!

Yesterday afternoon Johanna came by to do some training for the shows this weekend. She is for the first time going on her own with Yaya and Wilson, and I am left at home being nervous alone!
After that little practice me and the dogs have been at home relaxing and today I had time to play with my new cameralens. Johanna has taken Dando and Yaya out for some walks these past few days when I can't leave Moa on her own. So today I got Yaya back smelling nicely of pond after a swim she took in the muddy water... So she has not gotten a nice shower and is sleeping like a princess!

NATIONAL DOG SHOW IN VÄSTERÅS!

We had a very nice day at the National Dog Show in Västerås on Sunday together with a few of the A-litter puppies. Judge of the day was after a change Mr Åke Cronader, Sweden.
First out was the boys where I this day was showing Charlie. He won the juniorclass with Championquality and brother Ramoz was 3rd with Honours Prize. Wilson won the Huntingclass with Championquality and in Best Male it was youngster Charlies time to shine, and he finished as 3rd Best Male!
Leya did her debute in Juniorclass finishing nicely as 5th in the class. Yaya won the Intermediateclass with Championquality at her last entry in this class before it is time for her to join the grown ups in openclass. She finished nicely as Best Bitch gaining the CAC which was her 6th before the age of 2 years!
She was also placed as Best of Opposite Sex against Rex Ventors Pegasus who became Champion today! Congrats to you!

Thank you all for a good day at the show, even though it was probably the most stressful show I have ever been to with the fastest judgement ever!
After the show we made a quick stop at the candy shop in Hummelsta and drove home with almost 2 kilos in the bag to last me for the next couple of weeks when my body is crawing sugar!
We also took a little walk in the woods before picking up Moa and Dando at the family Larssons recidence! ;o) Thank you for looking after them and letting them enjoy the lovely day in your garden!

SPRINGPICTURES IN PLENTY

I have been so busy lately so haven't had the time to update the blogg for a while. Which is a shame because we have been on so many lovely walks in the spring time weather!
Some sunshine, dry grounds and just good times in good company!
So to start off below are some mixed pictures from our walks around Easter. We have been on walks with some of the A-puppies and as you have been able to see on the start page some of their photoalbums have been updated.

We have been spending the past two weekends bloodtracking with some of them, pictures from that coming soon! Also all the pictures and videos from Wilson's mentality test is coming as soon as I can! Enjoy this until then!

LILLA STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL DOG SHOW!

Time for easter and the yearly Dog Show "Lilla Stockholm" this time judged by Eva Liljekvist Borg. Yaya did her debut in the ring at this show one year ago, winning BOB, CAC and BIG-4! So it was nice to come back here again with her and for the first time some dogs from Kadamo's A-litter.
The boys was out first with Kadamo Don't Mess with Texas "Charlie" and Kadamo The Stage is Set for You "Ramoz".
The boys did very well in the large class with 11 juniormales. They were both rewarded 1st prize which we realized later on was a good judgement for the day since there was a few 2nd and 3rd prizes handed out this day.
Charlie was picked out inthe Top 5 and placed as number 4! Good job Jossan! And our little hangaround Zeus was placed as 5/Reserv in the class! Congrats to Camilla and Ove!
The it was time for Johanna and Wilson who won the Huntingclass with 1st prize and CQ! Good job as usual! Time for Best Male were Wilson was unfortunately not picked out for Top 5.

Time for the girls and Kadamo Lady in Red "Chanel" to make her official showdebut with her "aunt" Jeanette. Chanel unfortunately did not at all want to be in the ring this day so despite a nice critique she did not want to be shown for the judge which made her only recieve a 3rd prize. With more practice I hope we will see more of this stunning girl in the future!
And since her first heat started today (they day after the show) that might also have been a reason for her not feeling in top condition...
Yaya was out after Chanel keeping her good position from last year winning her class with CQ. So time for Best Bitch were she was picked out in the Top 5! She was nicely placed as 4th Best Bitch! That means that she has so far been placed in Best Bitch class 3 out of 4 shows this year! My little princess!

Dando and Moa got to stay at home this time. Now when Moa has been mated I don't want to risk any infections so she got to relax on the couch making sure those precious things she carries grows like they are supposed to! She seems to be feeling just fine so far and I am very anxious about the ultrasound that I am hoping I will be able to do within 1-2 weeks! Keep your fingers crossed for us and this lovely combination!

After we got home we were happy to take the car to the woods and take all the dogs for a nice long walk in the warm and sunny weather. So much better than being at a showground!
Pictures from our springwalks, some of the dogs from the A-litter and Yaya's mentality test will come one by one during the week, so keep on stopping by!
