CHRISTMASTIME!

We had a very normal Christmas eve in our family. We started the day with a nice long walk in the snow before getting ready to leave to my grandparents house. There we spend the whole afternoon eating, opening gifts, watching Kalle Anka and playing cardgames.
I had my three dogs with me, Johanna had Wilson and my uncle and aunt had their bichon havanaises so we had a total of 6 dogs at Christmas!
Yaya seem to have some kind of love for small boys and enjoyed the company of Elton. They were hugging and kissing all the time.
Well except for when Yaya stole two of the Christmas decorations from the tree... It was heartshaped gingerbread and she thought they were delightful!
In the evening we went back to my parents house for some more presents, eating and cardgames before it was time for me and the dogs to go home. By then the dogs were sooo tired after a long day!

NO SNOW OR LOTS OF SNOW, THAT IS THE QUESTION!

On Saturday, the day before the show Stora Stockholm me and Johanna walked the dogs together and for the first time in a long time I had a chance to walk the dogs in sunshine! Still no snow so not at all Christmaslike, but I don't mind!
So lovely! And my camera of course got to come along! (New individual pictures can be found in each dogs own photoalbum, Dando, Moa and Yaya.)
After that nice walk in what felt more like autumn landscape the weather changed this week. And most of all yesterday! When I walked the dogs on my lunchbreak we were litterally covered in snow! I have never seen anything like it before! A true snowstorm!
Dando did not appreciate this change of weather, sunshine is more his cup of tea, where he doesn't get so cold! But I still enjoy the snow right now. I am not a winter fan but it is a lot better than the grey, rainy and muddy weather we have been having for the past few months!
So overall we do enjoy the snow but we also do prefer the couch! ;o)

INTERNATIONAL DOGSHOW HUND 2009!

Today for the first time I took the train (!) to a dogshow! Now when I live close to the railway I figured it would be easier than trying to find a good spot to park the car at this very busy dogshow.
So me and the girls took our little cart with our things and took the train. The first time for both of them on a train and they did well. A little bit unsure at first but quickly relaxed and we had a smooth ride to the show!
Once there we met up with Johanna and Wilson who had taken an earlier train and got ourself settled in since we knew we had a long day ahead of us.
Todays judge was Sue Carter from South Africa and the breed entry was over 80!

First out of us in the ring was Johanna and Wilson for the first time in Workingclass. They did absolute fabulous and they won the class with CQ!
Wilson's critique:

"Balanced and symetrical. Strong bone. Well muscled. Equal distance head. Ears well set and carried. Reasonable stop. Dark brown eyes. Black nose. Scissorbite. Fourlegs slightly eastwest placement. Deep chest. Well bend...?. Correct shape, size and position of ridge, two crownes. Very good coat condition."

In Championclass my A-puppies dad Bosco (Zaxxon's Prince Bosco) won the class with excellent critique! Congratulations to you! Those South African judges really seems to love him!
After some waiting is was time for Best Male. Wilson and Johanna got to run some extra laps against the winner of the Openclass Enzo, (Zaxxon's Coolking Ceven) who is the "little brother" to Bosco. Enzo won and became Best Male with CAC, CACIB and became New Swedis Champion! HUGE congratulations to breeder Lotta and owners Sandra and Jocke!
Wilson got a very nice 2nd place which we are more than happy about! Now we are waiting for him to turn 2 years to start the next showseason in spring to hunt those last two CAC for his Championtitle.

Then it was time for the girls and Yaya was first out in Intermediateclass, 10 bitches there today... So a bit nervous when entering that large class...
Yaya did well and won the class with CQ! Happy me!
Her critique:

"Very elegant, symetrical outline. Very strong bone. Very good condition. Equal distance headproportions, clean skull, no wrinkle. Ears well set and carried. Good stop, strong underjaw, black nose, scissor bite. Very good forechest, well angulated front and rear. Powerful back. Ridge could be slightly longer but good in shape, two indentical crowns. Short coat in excellent condition. Moves freely, good reach and drive, good tail carrige."

Then it was Moa's turn in Championclass and she also did amazing finishing second! The judge came up to me and the winning bitch (African Braveheart's Fourever Yours) and said that these two bitches was the two most beautiful dogs she had ever seen in all the countries that she had been judging in! That feels good to hear!
Moa's critque:

"Well balanced, very elegant. Strong bone, well balanced. Equal distance. Ear well set and carrige. Dark brown eye. Black nose, reasonable stop, scissorbite. Good forechest, chest deep to elbows. Good length of neck, well angulated front and rear. Powerful topline, ridge could be slightly longer and crown little longer. Bitch in excellent condition."

So time for Best Bitch, this time I showed Yaya and Johanna got to show Moa. And the girls both did as good as they could with Moa finishing 2nd Best Bitch with Reserv CACIB (might be confirmed as CACIB?) and Yaya 3rd Best Bitch gaining her 5th CAC!
(If anyone has pictures from Best bitch please email me!)

So it was a very nice and successful end of our showyear 2009! It has been so much better than I could ever have imagined and I will write this year down in my History book! It wont be forgotten or taken for granted!
Thanks to all of you kind people who has been cheering us on, see you again at My Dog in January!

SUNDAY WALK WITH WILSON!

On Sunday I went to meet Johanna and Wilson at the stables. The weather was very nice and the sun was shining. But of course with my luck the sun was long gone by the time we were headingoiut with the dogs to the nearby fields and golfcourse...
The fog was coming in heavy so our walk did not turn out the way that I had first imagined. But the dogs had a blast especially when they found three roedeer to run after and also when they got to play on the golfcoarse.
A few pictures of the dogs below. Dando was of course also with us on this walk but he didn't end up in any good pictures...

TRACKING AND PLAYTIME FOR THE PUPPIES AGAIN!

On Saturday I went tracking with Vidar, Leya, Ramoz and bonus puppy Zeus. For the boys who traked last weekend we did longer tracks with more angles to give them a bit more difficult task.
For Vidar and Leya who hasn't done more than just one short track we laid longer once but just straight so far.
While the tracks rested we went for a walk with the dogs on leach. My god that was good practice! Luckily we had some extra arms so I could give away a couple of my dogs!
After this it was time for the dogs to do some work. And I was just as amazed this time of the great talents we have among us! Ramoz and Zeus who has now done this a few times are soo eager to get started and knows exactly what they are suppose to do!
Leya and Vidar where a bit more careful and took their time (which meant kept a good speed and didn't have us running behind them! ;o) ) They were very thorough and did a great job! I am so proud of each and everyone of these puppies!
After the tracking we let the dogs play for a short while one the fields again. No pictures from the tracking since it is to dark in the woods, but at least a few of the dogs playing!
Thank you all for yet another nice day!

PLAYTIME!

On Sunday I met up with Ramoz and Dayo from the A-litter and our Kadamo-hang-around-Zeus. We were doing some field/bloodtracking. All the dogs have tried it a couple of times before but only real short tracks, so today we tried a bit longer tracks up to a 100 metres.
While waiting for the tracks to "rest" the dogs got to play together on the fields. I had all four dogs with me since Johanna was working.
Wilson is such a great "uncle" for the puppies since he loves to play with them. He let's them know if they are behaving badly but since he is still just a young dog and playful they get along great!
After the little play-break the dogs got to rest in the cars while we two-legged had a chat about tracking and so on.
Then it was time for the tracks! All dogs impressed me so much! They were so eager and tails going happily from side to side while they worked. All dogs was easy to read and did an amazing job. So for them it is time to do alot longer and more difficult tracks!
Yaya also got to do one a bit longer and did well. It was a really nice day in great company despite the rain and grey weather.
Keep on the good job with your dogs and I know you will have some trackingstars there by springtime!

See some of you again on Saturday!

SOME VIDEOS!

Like I have mentioned I had Vidar staying with me and the dogs this past weekend. He is such a lovely boy! Stunning, great expression but most of all a lovely and cuddly personality.
He got along really well with the other dogs and listen to them when needed. So below are some mixed pictures with him from the weekend.
Also some pictures of Yaya and Moa from our daily lunchwalk and also from their daily moment of full attention from my work colleagues. They love everyone I work with since they always gives them kisses, scratching and of course treats!
Below the pictures are some videos. First from our walk in the sandpit with Johanna and Wilson from Sunday. Then there are a few videos of Moa and Yaya playing during our lunchwalk and the last video is of the dogs at work getting their daily attention!
Enjoy!

SHOWTIME FOR THE AMERICA PUPPIES TODAY!

Today I met up with five of the puppies from my first litter for an inofficial show in Sollentuna. From Gävle we had Charlie (Kadamo Don't mess with Texas) and Chanel (Kadamo Lady in Red), from Uppsala we had Vidar (Kadamo Up in the Blue) and Ramoz (Kadamo the stage is set for you) and from Nacka we had Leya (Kadamo American Brownie).
All the puppies with owners did a great job in the ring and I am so proud of them all. It was a very long day with a lot of new impressions and the puppies were tired but still did well.
They all got excellent critiques from the judge and all with comment on them being very well presented! Congratulations to you all for that!
In maleclass 6-9 months Ramoz won, our bonus-puppy Zeus was 2nd, Vidar 3rd and Charlie 4th. Unfortunately Charlie was limping today which made the judge not able to place him higher.
In bitchclass 6-9 months Leya was 2nd and Chanel 3rd. Winner was pretty little girl Keba. Ramoz and Theresé did great when meeting the best bitch and won becoming Best of Breed! Congratulations!
In the group final they were placed as nr 2 after the Dalmatian.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of you for great performances! With some more practice I know these dogs will do excellent in the future!
Thank you all for a great day in your company, see you again soon!

MOA SO CLOSE TO A 1st PRIZE IN OBEDIENCE TODAY!

Today me and Moa had our fourth and last competition for the season. Of course it was raining this morning just as it has the last couple of times but I tried not to let this get to me.
Today my friend Magda competed in class 1 aswell but in the other group than me and Moa. She and her kelpie Lipton won the class with a 1st prize! Great job, you guys rock!
Expect for Magda's company today my friends Peter and Annso also came by to cheer for us, thank you all for supporting me!

Well, now to how it went. First out as always was laying down in group. Moa did a good job laying the whole time today, despite the dog next to her standing up and walking away. Unfortunately she sat up before my command when I stood by her side again afterwards which made us loose some points...
We had number 3 so we didn't have that much time to get ready. First thing on the field was getting her teeth checked by the judge and this is no problems what so ever. She sits beautifully next to me so she got a score 10!

So time for healwork. Moa starts to shake her head and does this several times during the healwork. Not sure what it was but when we were finished she got the scratch that thing out of her ear and she got her focuse back. Still she got a score 8!
Now time for laying down during heal which she now does pretty well. She only got the score 6 which I thought was a bit low because I think she did it pretty fast, for a ridgeback on wet grass!
Recall went well, a bit slow and standing during heal the same and they both got score 8.
Fetch which she used to hate is one of her best things now and she did it absolutely great getting a score 10! The jump was also great, a little bit slow start which gave her a 9,5 score!
Overall I am really pleased with her! No zeros and nice scores! I thought we could have our first 1st prize!

So time for the results to be announced. Moa made it to number 4 out of 12 dogs, with 159 points... that is just one point away from a 1st prize...
I know I shouldn't get upset but I am to competitive not to... so a few tears in the car and some upset phonecalls to my dear peptalking friends before I could accept that result...

I think Moa and I will not take a break and try again in spring when we can hopefully count on better and warmer weather!

Thank you all for great company today, and thank you Annso for lovely food, sweets and my beautiful nails!

B elow are a few short videos of our performance today, also some pictures below the videos.

MOA'S THIRD OBEDIENCE COMPETITION!

Today it was time for me and Moa to once again step out in the rain for an attempt to compete in obedience. Today we had the company of two more ridgebacks, Wesley and Vimla.
We started as usual with laying down in group. And I think this must have been the worst one I have ever experienced. At least half of all the dogs stood or sat up or walked off. They had to restart the second group because once dog desturbed the rest... It was no doubt that the cold and wet weather was affecting the dogs!
Of course Moa and the other two ridgebacks was in the group of dogs who did not lay down the whole time... Moa sat though and still got 5 points.
We were number 3 to enter the field and Moa felt ok despite the rain. I warmed up doing several laying down during heal since that has been our black cloud on the other two competitions.
Right before it was our turn I did a stand during heal and she layed down... Oops... She was now so focused on laying down so she did even listen to what I said... So we did a few stand before it was time to enter the field.

She did the heal pretty well, a bit slow sitting down at the stops but other than that good. She did the laying down during heal nicely considering the wet grass and rain. Her recall was pretty good to and then it was time for stand during heal... And of course she laid down...
What can I say!? I can't complain because my sweet dog lays down in the cold grass doing what she thinks is right wanting me to be happy...
The fetch went really nice and so did they jump.

So this competition was pretty much like the last one, decent point over all but the mistakes of her sitting up during laying in group cost her 15 points and her laying instead of standing cost us 30 points... And that is more than enough to bring our total score down to a 3rd prize...

But I am still so happy about her achievment in this really bad weather. When we get those 0 taken care of she will be up there in the top! So I can definetely see the light in the end of the tunnel and we are not giving up quite yet!

SUNNY BUT COLD EVENINGWALK!

The weather has definetely gotten colder the past week or so which I don't mind as long as I am dressed right! After work I always try to take the dogs for a nice long walk before it gets dark. Usually Johanna and Wilson comes along with us.
Today I showed them a new walk that I have found with some big fields that the dogs could play on. Some pictures from that below.

This weekend we were suppose to do Mentalitytest on Yaya and Wilson. Unfortunately Yaya has come into false pregnancy after her second heat and isn't quite herself so I decided to let her wait and only go with Wilson. But
today we found out that some people had dropped out so the test has been cancelled.
Hopefully we will be able to do the test with both dogs in the spring instead!
So now "all" I have to do this weekend is a new attempt of obedience in the cold weather with Moa and a relaxing Sunday off! Looking forward to that instead!

MOA'S FIRST OBEDIENCE COMPETITIONS!

This weekend has been about obedience! Our an attempt on it! ;o) On Saturday I headed to Väsby BK early in the morning for Moa's first competition in obedience. We had a great practise on Friday night with our friends Liselott and Wesley so I was feeling a little bit hopeful.
Liselott was also competing today and it was really nice to have them there this day. I have really crappy nerves when it comes to obedience, it's a million times worse than when I go to shows! (That equals BAD!)
First we did the laying in group and Moa and Wesley was in the same group. It was really really cold this day and it was still frost on the ground...

Moa did well laying the whole time but unfortuntely whining a little bit which gave her 8 points instead of 10. Wesley sat up and one dog walked off... so she wasn't the only one thinking it was too cold!
When it was our turn Moa started to look at the dog competing at the field next to us... in Eliteclass. I am not sure what she was thinking, but she wasn't focused on me that is for sure. So we tried our thing, here and there it went well but most of it was pretty crappy, since she was still watching the other dog...

Luckily I have gotten something good out of my time competing with Dando in obedience, and that is not to get upset. Moa is not Dando, that I know for sure. She can do obedience really well but she doesn't do it with the joy and happiness as Dando does for a treat.
She does it because she loves to see me happy. So they are two very different dogs to work with which teaches me new things every day!
And today it was so obvious where her mind was so all I can do is be happy that she acctually did some things well despite the fact that she wasn't concentrating and it was very cold.

So today it was time for her second competition and today instead of cold frost we got rain... Guess how many deep breaths I had to take today not to let that stress me out!
The first thing today was again laying down in a group. When we left the dogs and got to where we were suppose to stand I saw the dog that was suppose to lay next to Moa walking after his owner. Moa had laid down on the side of her bum and started with some quick butt cleaning and then layed back normally again. I am not sure if she did this because the walking dog stressing her or if she just felt like it.
But today's judge was a very strikt one and she said that since she had lifted her elbows from the grass she couldn't give her more points than 5 (which a dog get's who sits the whole time instead of lays down...)
I thought this was not really fare, she did lay the whole time despite that... so I think she deserved a 6 or a 7...
Oh well, we just had to let that go and focuse on the rest.

When it was our turn she did feel pretty good and did a decent job according to me. The only thing that didn't work today either was laying down during heal. I had to tell her twice just like I had to yesterday before she layed down in the wet grass...
She was also a little bit slower in the end but still doing everything so I was quite pleased walking off the field.
It was when I got the score back that I got a bit disappointed. I thought she would get a higher total today because she did get some good scores, but those laying down bits took that away.
And I know you shouldn't be thinking like that, but if she had only gotten a full score on laying in group and a 6 on laying down during heal she would have had that a 1st prize! So in that way it sucks...
But I am still SOOO proud of her!
Some pictures from these two days below, thank you Liselott and Monica for them!

See her complete scores on her Obediencepage!

AUTUMN WALK IN THE SUN!

The weather has been very nice lately but quite cold this week. Last weekend I took some pictures of the dogs outside playing and posing so thought I would share them with you now.
This weekend we have Leya staying with us which means that I don't have time to write more than this today! I am being quite occupied and staying busy! ;o)
She is a sweet girl who gets along great with the rest of the dogs. I think she is in seventh heaven having dogs around her all the time. Pictures of our princess will come soon!
