ONE YEAR HAS PASSED AND ANOTHER ONE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

I want to take the oppurtunity to look back at the year that has past and I do it with a smile on my face and with some relief! ;o)

In January I started my year of studies at Hundens Hus and the last weekend in November I had completed it and can now title myself Dipl. Doginstructor!

In April Moa got her last 1st prize in fieldtracking and became a Swedish Fieldtracking Champion less than 2 years old!

In May our newcomer Wilson moved in with my sister Johanna and this young boy has developed and matured so nicely and I can't wait to see what the future holds in store for him. He started his puppyshow career with nice placements such as BOB and BIS-5. He has also proven to be a great fieldtracker and I think he will do great in the woods during 2009.

In May my new little princess Yaya was born in Finland and in June I went to see her for the first time, and it was love at first sight! In July she came over here and nothing has ever been the same! I can now not have anything eatable at home if it isn't hidden in a cupboard and behhund a closed door or else I will find it gone... or more like in Yaya's belly...
Thank you Anne at Kennel Tarujen for letting me have this precious little girl and for being such a great breeder and support to me, even if you are on the other side of the ocean!

In July me and Moa also went to two shows in Tvååker where she first ended up 3rd best bitch one placement from the CAC but the day after she really took it all! She was Best Bitch with CAC and made it all the way to BEST OF BREED! That feeling of accomplishing that with my own dog for the first time I will never forget! It still makes me smile!

In August we moved "back" to Sollentuna and to a bigger apartment. I can't wait for the spring and summer and the nice BBQ's I will have on my outdoor area! The dogs has settled in very well and I think they just as I am are happy to live only five minutes from the Dogclub and Ursviks great woods and fields.

During the year I have met some wonderful people and dogs while teaching some puppyclasses and obedienceclasses and I have to thank you all! I have learned a lot and also realized how much I enjoyed training dogs and their owners!
During 2009 I will train to become a Fieldtrackinstructor, Peopletrackinstructor and instructor for Competitive Obedience for Class 1 and intro Class 2-Elit. So I hope to see both old and new faces on my future classes!

I also want to make a special thank you to my dearest friends Carina and Micke Sjöholm! You are what I call real friends! I'm so greatful for you letting me use your gorgeous girl Fendi for my first litter and I can't wait to start this journey together with you!

I am very happy with the year that has passed by but I have even higher hopes for the year that is to come!
I have so much to look forward to, for example the "kids" (Yaya and Wilson) entering the official showrings, hopefully a lot of fieldtracking, Kadamo's first litter of puppies, making new friends in future puppybyers and spending time with friends and dogs that we love! I have different goals for all my dogs and we will see if 2009 will be the year where we will achieve them!

So, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you out there! I hope you have enjoyed visiting my homepage this year and I hope you will come back and follow our lifes in 2009!

Below are a bunch of pictures from the past few days walks in the lovely sunshine!

SLEEPING AND TRACKING

In our family we enjoy spending the evenings on the couch. And my dogs have different styles on how they prefer to do this. Yaya I have to say is still the one with the most odd styles of them all... You have seen her before sleeping on top of the other dogs backs... Well, her is another one of her sleeping positions... upside down!
It doesn't look comfortably to me but she seems happy so what can I do?! At least she is relaxed and saticfied!

Earlier today we did some fieldtracking. Wilson is such a star! He is such a good tracker, good speed, very contentrated and focused. I doubt he will have any problems with real long tracks in the spring.
Yaya is also good but not as focused. but with some more practise she will without a doubt become a good fieldtracker aswell!

Some chilled out pictures of Yaya and Moa below and some dark once from todays tracking.

Yaya has a special way of sleeping... A very very relaxed way...

Using Moa's bum as a pillow...

She squeezes herself down upside down between Moa and the pillows...

But we don't just sleep! Here is Yaya with her hoof at the end of her fieldtrack!

CHRISTMAS DAY WALK AND SOME TIME OFF!

We didn't get a lot of snow for Christmas this year either. But at least a little and a few cold degrees belwo zero which made the surroundings a little bit frosty white.
So camera around my neck I took the dogs out for a nice walk. Yaya was the only one in the mood for posing today while Moa and Dando was busy with other things... (that mean's eating rabbitpoo).

We had a very nice Christmas with family and relatives and the dogs behaved very well all day long. And I got to sleep almost until 10 o´clock this morning! That's probably my record since Yaya moved in!

Now I have three more days off before working two days, then two days off, working one day and then four days off again. I will enjoy this time off so much! I have already started to get my hallway ready and then it is only my kitchen left.
It feels so good to get things done. Not that the apartment hasn't been ok but I just want to get everything finished! Pictures will come eventually!

Below are a few pictures of the dogs from todays walk!

WALKING AND PLAYING!

Guess what! We have had two (TWO!!!) days with sunshine this week!!! First on Thursday so me and the dogs went for a nice walk around Ursvik before work.
And then again today. So in the morning we met up with Johanna and Wilson to lay a fieldtrack for him and Yaya. After that Wilson got to go home with me for a few hours while the tracks "rested".
Around lunchtime I drove to Drottningholm and took the dogs the "Dog island". I haven't been there for quite sometime and the dogs really enjoyed it.
I think it is good for the dogs to interact with other breeds since I easily "get stuck" in old habbits spending most of my time with other ridgeback owners.
We met some mixed breeds, salukis, grand danois, terriers and others. See some mixed pictures below.

In the afternoon I met up with Johanna again and it was time for the dogs to go their tracks that had been laying for about 5-5½ hours. They both did very well!
After this my dogs got to spend a few hours on their own at home while I went for the first annual Christmas dinner. They had behaved quite well, only a few shoes misplaced and a bag of sweets less... (And I thought I had put it away high enough... I guess I never learn that Finnish dogs climb shelves!)

A little update on Fendi! She is doing very well! She is a bit unhappy about not getting any long walks and all she wants to do is eat and play! And she can't do any of it as much as she would like to... If it weren't for the stitches on her belly you could never tell that a week ago she was really ill and laying on the operation table.
So, we hope she will continue recovering like this and she will be back out there running and playing in no time!

WHAT A LUCIA! NEVER AGAIN!

Fendi had surgery on Saturday for an infection on her intestine caused by something that she has eaten. The thing that she had swalloed had made a hole on her intestine and an infection had started around it. It had developed into an abscess that burst and made her very very ill.

It all started on Friday. She was staying at my place since Wednesday and on Friday she womited twice and appeared to have stomache pain. On Sunday morning she urinated on the floor and several times outside which it not normal for her.
I started to get a little bit to conserned so I took her to work and had one of my vets have a look at her. We tested her urine, took bloodtests and X-rays. She appeared to have an infection and more gas in her intestines than what's normal.
So we started to do a contrast X-ray to see if she had an object stuck somewhere in her stomache. After a few hours and some X-rays she got to drink some water which she soon womited and we now started to get really concerned. She seemed to be in quite a lot of pain in her stomache so we decided to take her to a Animal Hospital for furhter check ups and treatment.

There they took more bloodsamples, X-rays and an ultrasound which showed that she had some free fluids in her stomache. This got the veterinarian to worry and we decided to take her to surgery to open her up and see where it came from.

During her surgery we got continues reports from the nurses how the surgery was going. It turned out that she had had something in her intestine that had perforated the wall which had caused an infection to start. After some time this had turn into an abscess which has burst and made her very ill very quickly. By the looks of it this is something she has had for at least a few weeks, and she hasn't shown any signs of illness what so ever!

The surgery went well and after a very long day (Lucia!) we headed home but Fendi got to stay. I was lucky to have my dear friend Maria working that evening so she called me late at night to give me a status update before the night. She did this about twice a day for the next couple of days as well. THANK YOU so much Maria for keeping an eye on little Fendi for us!

On Monday after work I drove there to visit Fendi. Carina, Micke and me had decided that it would probably be best if they didn't go since she would probably get very sad when they had to leave her again. With me she still gets happy but she is used to me always leaving her since she hasn't been staying with me that much yet.
It was really great to see her then because she was wagging her tail and it just felt like Fendi was back!

On Wednesday she got to come home with me over night. The veterinarian thought it would be nice for her to get out of the hospital for night but since she was still on painrelieving medicine trough injections she wasn't allowed to go home to Carina and Micke. But since I work as a vet nurse I was allowed to give her her medicines so I picked her up after work.
And she was even happier today to see me! The other dogs at first thought she smelled funny but soon realized that even though her bad smell it was still Fendi. They were all so gentle with her and the night went very smootly. She got her medicine and food in the evening and had her first poo since the surgery! Wohoo! I never thought I would call someone and be happy over a piece of poo...
After that I got up at 2 am to give her her medicine and to take her out again. In the morning after more medicine and food we had to go back to the hospital. Today she was making a clear statement that she wasn't happy to be there again. She was crying out just to make me feel bad for leaving her there...
After a few hours the veterinarian called and told me that she could go home... ;o) Fendi had succedded!

So in the evening Carina and Micke picked her up and she is now happily tuckt in her bed being very happy to be home again.
She has already made a great recovery and her progress is going just as well as we can hope for. She will need a few weeks of rest before she is back in shape.

Depending on when her season will start we will decide about her mating. As long as the veterinarian clears her as being ok from the surgery we will go ahead with the mating with Bosco as planned. So hopefully she will wait with her heat a month or so until we feel that it is safe for her to get pregnant.
We are just so "happy" that this happend now and not after she had been mated... God knows what would have happend then?!

Everyone at the Animal hospital has been so kind and helpful and the nurses has given Fendi so much praise on how sweet and well behaved she has been. She has been kind, calm and easy to take care of.

So after what has felt like a very very long week we are happy to have Fendi back home feeling so good and being just sweet and happy Fendi again!

NO SNOW FOR LUCIA!

Well we have so far had a typcial Swedish winter... which means no snow just rain for a week or so. This weekend has been the first couple of days without train up here...

We had planned to go and meet Bosco and somepuppybuyers on Saturday but we unfortunately got some change of plans.

So today instead I spend a few hours in the woods playing and activating all four dogs. Of course I had to try out my new camera. There is still A LOT more for me to figure out on it to get better pictures but below are a little taste of the results with a few pictures of each dog.

And not to forget! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!

AFTERNOON AT HOME!

This weekend I have taken care of Wilson during the days. Last night I went for Christmas dinner with work at Carlshälls Wärdshus. Oh it was nice! And oh so good! And oh my belly was hurting on the way home!

Today we first met Carina and Micke and their dogs for a walk with future puppybyers. The rest of the day has been spend at home just relaxing.
Next weekend we are meeting Bosco with family again! We are really looking forward to it! And I know I have some puppybyers who does to!
Fendi has not started her season yet. We do believe it is on it's way but nothing quite yet. Fendi will be spending some time with me and the dogs next week to start to get used to living at the Kadamo residence!

Below are some mixed pictures of the dogs chilling at home! There is no doubt that these dogs knows how to use a couch!

ANOTHER GREY WALK!

The few days we had with snow feels long gone by now... The weather is so depressing... Just grey and dark and raining.
But of course I do bring my camera along now and then, so here are a few pictures of this mornings walk.

I am not going to the show this weekend. I am not showing anyone and since I am having a "not dog related weekend" with a girls night on Friday and a Christmas dinner on Saturday it can be nice with a lay in. And I don't dare to leave Yaya the piraya on her own early in the day.
Since she has now shown me that she can also climp shelves I don't trust her all that much by herself. So now ha dogs are locked up in the bedroom with me at night so I don't have to worry what she is eating or chewing on at night...
She is good left at home when she is tired. She is also very good in a cage at work or at shows/or school, especially when she has Moa as company. At work she is now on her own for a few hours a day for practice and doing very well. No more screaming at least!

Well, that's it for tonight! Hopefully next time you visit us I will have some sunny pictures to show you!

I AM DONE! I AM A DOGINSTRUCTOR!!!

Finally! It has been a long but very very fun year for me. My education started in January and I have learned so much. I have gotten to know some great people and new friends trough school. Friends I hope to keep for life!
It has been A LOT of hard work, more than I could ever imagine. But in the end it has all been worth it!

I want to thank EVERYONE who has borrowed me their dogs and has let me train them! You and your dogs have taught me so much! THANK YOU!

I really hope I will become a great instructor who can encourage people to live an active and fun life together with their dogs.
Since my interest for teaching others has only started I will continue on to become instructor in other things as well, like tracking etc. So hopefully I will be able to offer even more interesting and fun classes in the future! For now I will be able to teach puppies, youngsters, general obedience, activating classes and basic clicker training.

So thank you to "old" dogowners who has attended my classes and WELCOME to new once!

Below are a few pictures from our walk on Friday. I had Wilson then as well so tried my best to get pictures of him the few seconds he stood still...

SNOW!!!

The winter just hit us this past week and we got so much snow in such short period of time. The dogs loves it! This was Yaya's first real snow and she is thrilled!
I have been home for a couple of days with a bad caugh so the dogs has gotten to entertain themselves when I have taken them out. Which isn't really a problem for them! Just give them a big field and they will run off some steam!
Wilson has spend a couple of days with is aswell, so below are a few pictures from one of our walks. Enjoy!

IT WAS ABOUT TIME!

The weather has been so boring lately so i haven't had any nice pictures to put up here. And when the sun finally started to shine again my camera started to cause me some trouble... But everything is working fine now. So, yesterday before work when the sun was shining I of course had to bring it with me when walking the dogs.
The dogs got to play and of course nicely posed for the camera as well. See individual pictures of them in their own photoalbums (Dando, Moa, Yaya).
We haven't done that much exciting this past week so not much to tell. I have my exams on my Doginstructor education coming up so I am trying to find some energy to start studying for that.

Fendi seems to be on her way into season soon. Daddy Vegas seem to think his daughter is starting to smell better than normal... ;o) Hopefully she waits a little bit longer but things seems to be starting to happen soon!

WEDDING AND BAPTISM!

On Saturday morning I got up early and drove to Carina and Micke and dropped off my three dogs... poor Micke was still a sleep, but nor for long...
Then I took the ferry to Ljusterö with my sister Johanna and my uncle and then we were picked up by boat and taken to Ingmarsö.
It was time for my niece Clara's baptism and plenty of people were invited for this. What they didn't know was that the baptism would develop into a wedding!
The day continued with lots of lovely food and a nice party in the evening. Congratulations to you Emma and Martin, Mrs and Mr Westling! You looked stunning and I am so happy for you! And Clara, my gorgeous little niece, you behaved so perfectly all weekend long!
On Sunday after more lovely food we headed back home and it was time to pick up the dogs. I am sorry Carina and Micke that Yaya stood on your kitchen table searching for leftovers... she would never do that at home... It's not like she normally steals food at home... at night when I am a sleep, like chilinuts, fruit, sweets, crisps, dogfood, glasses, shoes, tape (you name it, she has eaten it... )
THANK you for putting up with her!!! Luckily for her she can be quite cute from time to time as well...

SOME NEW PICTURES OF FENDI!

This past week we have been out walking with Fendi and potential puppybyers. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been to good but at least I have been able to take a few new photos of Fendi for you all to enjoy.

She isn't showing any signs of coming into heat yet so we are still hoping that she will wait a little bit longer! But at the same time we are getting anxcious for things to start happening as well! We can't wait! I will of course update the page as soon as something happens!

Until then enjoy the photos below!

SHOWTIME FOR THE YOUNGSTERS!

Today it was time for Yaya's debut in the showring and Wilson's third show. This time we went to Enköping and their inofficial puppyshow. It was 14 ridgebacks entered between the ages of 4-9 months.
Wilson was up first winning his class (6-9 months) and then he also went on winning Best Male.

Here is Wilson's critique:
"Maskuline male with good lines and proportions. Good head and expression. Normal angulation front and rear. Very good legs and paws. Good ripcage. Moves with very good lenght and elastic steps. Very nice temperament."

After that it was time for Yaya to enter the ring in the 4-6 months class. She behaved very well and was placed as 2nd with Honoursprize. In Best Bitch she was beaten by the older girls and finished as number 6 (right outside placement).

Here is Yaya's critique:
"Feminine bitch with beautiful lines. Wellshaped head, could have more wrinkles on her forhead. Beautiful neck. Good bones, paws and angulation. Wellshaped ribcage. Moves with good length of steps but yet a bit light in front movements. Very nice temperament."

It was now time for BOB and BOS for Wilson. He behaved excellent and I just love running with him in the ring! Finally a dog that can keep up with my long legs! ;o)
He finished nicely BOS and BOB was Kangelani's Impressive Inka by Ascot. Congratulations to you Birgitta! She is a stunning girl!

SOME VACATION!

This week has been quite relaxed for us. I had Monday off and only worked Thuesday and Wednesday and then I've had Thursday and Friday off work! I have had some things to catch up with at home that I am to lazy to spend time on doing when I get home from work and dog activities in the evenings.
So now I have been good and done things around the apartment and als?????o some school work.

We had Wilson here Wednesday until Thursday and we have been training with him and Johanna today. Some more fieldtracking for the "kids" and peopletrack for Dando and agility and obedience for Moa.

Below are a few pics of sweet sweet Yaya trying to get my attention, a headstudy of her and Dando and a few pictures of a roedeer that we met in the woods yesterday.

On Sunday Yaya will have her showdebut, so keep your fingers crossed that she will run nicely beside me and not try to bite my bum... ;o)

WEEKEND IN SMÅLAND!

On Saturday morning after a nice sunny walk I drove to Småland and my familys cottage. I met my dad and a few other hunters there and stayed until Monday.
On Saturday afternoon the landowner shot a moose and on Sunday they shot three wilderbeast and three roedeer. (Jippie, means new hoofs for my fieldtracking and great dinners at my parents...)
Dando got all crazy about the moose and even told me that he could skip his dinner if he could get a mooseleg instead! Well, he didn't get this so normal dinner it was!
Both Yaya and Moa where also interested but at least they stopped chewing on the animal when told to... Dando had to be locked inside the house!
(PS. I have skipped the discusting photos so even if you have a sensitive ????? stomache you should be fine watching the pictures below.)

On Sunday morning me, Moa and Yaya drove to Växjö for a dogshow where we met up with Patricia and her girls Moa and Sancy! We had a nice day at the show with Patricia and Sancy winning the Juniorclass with CQ and me and Moa ended up 4th Best openclass Bitch.
After the show we had a nice lunch and then drove out in the woods for a very nice walk. The dogs had so much fun together again!
Let's not wait this long until we see eachother again! It's not good for my health... ;o) Unfortunately my pictures from this walk wasn't any good... None of the dogs where standing still long enough to be caught on camera... Patricia did better and you can see a few pictures on her page HERE.

This morning before heading back home I took the dogs for a nice walk around the fields. Unfortunately no sun this morning (just because I had lots of time and the camera with me...) but plenty of new pictures below anyway! Enjoy!

I better move!

MY TRACKING DOGS!

This fall I have been tracking a lot with Dando and Moa. Instead of fieldtracking they get to do peopletracks, after me or one of my friends. In the track I leave one or more sticks or objects for them to find and show to me.
Dando is really good at this! He tracks a little bit too fast but he always show the sticks/object really well by picking it up.
Moa tracks more calmly and only sniffs on the objects so far, so we are working on having her point them out better for me.

Yaya has gotten to try some fieldtracking this week aswell. She was a lot more secure this time and didn't hesitate like last week. She walked straight on and happily found her hoof!

Dando and me are working on "Rutan/Square" for obedienceclass 2. I really want to be able to compete again... that old competitive nerv has started to twitch... But we still have a very long way to go before we are ready for that!

Tomorrow we are driving to Småland and my familys cottage there. We will do some more tracking and on Sunday I am showing Moa in Växjö. Yaya will come along just to train being in that kind of environment and Dando will stay with my Dad and the hunters at the cottage.
We a?????re all soooo looking forward to seeing our DEAR friends Patricia, Sancy and Moa. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Sancy on your 1 year birthday today!!! See you all on Sunday!!!

NEW STACKS!

Since the weather has been bad the last few????? times I have had my camera with me I haven't been able to take any new stacks of the dogs outdoors. So today when I had all four at home I thought I would give it a go.
So having them one at a time with the camera standing in on end of the room and the dog in the other I did my best on stacking them and turning on the timer on the camera...
Unfortunately the light wasn't to good but oh well! See the result below.

This past weekend me, Moa and Yaya was on my last weekend in "school" as a dogsintructor. Now I just have to study for my exams and try finish the things I have left to do so I can get my diploma! This year has gone by so fast, but at the same time it has been long!

Today my sister Emma and my little baby niece Clara came by for a visit. Clara is almost 3 months old and of course the cutest baby ever! A picture of her laughing in the bottom!

This week has of course also been filled with dog activities. For example we met up with Sanna, Smilla, Saffran, Janan, Helinn, Samantha, Robin and Pasha at Gärdet yesterday. We went for a nice but cold walk and the dogs enjoyed the company. It was fun to see how they most of the time paired up in groups: Yaya, Pasha and Saffran, Moa and Smilla and Dando and Helinn.

Today I have been clickertraining Dando in the morning and he is doing very well. Yaya and Wilson also got to try fieldtracking again. I only laid a very short track for Yaya since she is still so young. She did hesitate at first but with some peptalk she took off and was happy to find her "prize" in the end!
Wilson got a bit longer track and did very well, also he very very proud of finding the hoof all by himself!

After our morning outdoors we went to Hundpoolen for Dando and Moa's weekly swim. This time Dando got to swim with dolphins instead of a vest (see below). Both dogs did well and Dando used a little bit more energy this week... Moa as always swims like crazy around the pool.

Mixed pictures from aboves activities you can find here below. At the end, one of my favourite pictures of my three darlings!

AN ORDINARY WEEK IN OUR FAMILY!

A normal week in mine and the dogs life is a filled with walks (in the sun of course! ;o) ) and some training of different kind.
This week I have been clicker training the dogs and starting to teach Johanna and Wilson this aswell. Dando I am clicking to stand on a mousepad (which we will eventually move into "rutan" for obedienceclass 2). Moa and Yaya also gets to do that but just for fun.
Yaya I am also clickertraining in general obedience, which she is absolutely great at when I have treats! If I don't have treats other things are a bit more interesting at the moment...
Wilson and Johanna is now in the beginning of their training and Wilson is making fast impovements and showing more an more intrest in this type of traini?????ng.
Below are a some mixed pictures from our every day life! Enjoy!

ROADTRIP TO SUNDSVALL!

On Friday me and Carina drove off to Sundsvall up north with Moa and Fendi. Dando, Yaya and Vegas stayed at home with Micke.
We made a few stops for "photoshoots" in the way beacuse of the lovely scenery. (Those pictures I will put up her shortly.)

We arrived quite early at our hostel and took the dogs for a little walk. After that we drove and bought ourselves some dinner to celebrate Carinas Birthday! We spoiled ourselves with pizza!

The next morning we drove the last bit to Sundsvall and arrived well in time at the showground. Fendi placed as 2nd in Openclass and Moa as 5th out of 12. Ok but not good enough of course... ;o)

On our way home we stoped at McDonalds with the rest of the Stockholm-crew and enjoyed a victory burger together with todays BOS Åsa and her African HUnters Amazing BIM. Huge congratulations to you fo?????r your first CC, Cacib and BOS placement! You are so worth it! And thank you for the nice lunch! Let's make this a habbit!

Of course me and Carina stopped at the huge candystore on our way home byung about 2 kilos each! Mmmm.. yummie!

Today the sun was shining so we stopped on our way home also to let the girls play and for some more photos! See a little bit of the result below, more coming soon!

SISTERLY LOVE

Moa and Yaya are getting along very well. Moa has been a bit down after her heat and not all that much fun. But she is coming back to her normal self now only with big titties... ;o)

Yaya and her loves to wrestle on the couch or in one of the dogbeds, and Moa just LOVES having a little sister... See for yourself below... She loves her and would never want to hurt her! Or... ;o)

I had yesterday off and since I don't have a car for the moment I was kind of stuck. So instead of spending the whole day outdoors with the dogs I did my laundry and I also baked! I have wanted to do that for a long time but I haven't had the time. So now I did! (Check out the bottom picture and feel you mouth watering...)

Now I'm off for two days of doginstructor training! Adios!

TRAINING AND PLAYING!

On Sunday we had a "dog-date" with Peter and Java. We met up and did a little bit of obedience and after that some peopletracking. First out was Java who is such a talent!

Dando was up next and he did great. He hasn't done this kind of tracking for a long time and he amazes me every time! He sets off in full speed with me trying to keep up behind him. He is so much more focused trakcin after people compared with fieldtracking. He needs to concentrate more which is good for him because he then tracks beautifully and picks up the "sticks" that's been dropped in the track.
We attended a trackclasses years ago and it's nice to see he still has it in him. I will definetely shape up and do this more often! Thank you Peter for the push in the right direction!

Moa also got to try tracking and also did very well. She is a lot more calm than Dando and takes her time. Of course she hasn't had as much experience of this type of tracks as Dando and they tr?????ack in different ways.

After a nice long "dog-sunday" I left the dogs at my parents house for the evening and enjoyed some quality time with my friends! Thank you girls for a great evening! Glad you all could come by and how about restaurant, movies and girltalk again soon!?!

Ps. Patricia... I went to Gärdet today... It's not the same without you guys... How will I cope this winter?!

THE SUMMER IS OVER

It has happened... the summer is officially over... I have lived on faith for about a month now that summer would come back but I have realised that it's time to give up hope... Well, not hope in general but for laying on a beach tanning, or swimming again this year!

So now I point my camera towards the autumn leaves and lovely colours that comes along! And to be honest when you enjoy photographing like I do and have ridgebacks the autumn is probably the best time of year to get good pictures! The colours of these dogs just get beautiful with the autumn leaves in background!
So, I am looking forward to some nice days with SUNSHINE the next couple of months and hopefully I will be able to share the results of my photo sessions with you here.

For now, enjoy these first pictures, no sunshine and not that much red, yellow or orange colours but beautiful dogs!

UPDATES!

This Saturday morning I headed off to Hägerstensåsen early in the morning and dropped off Dando and Moa with Linda, John and Caesar (Moa's brother). The two of them got to stay there for the weekend! Thank you for looking after them!
Yaya and me then met up with Carina, Micke, Vegas and Fendi and we drove towards Skåne. We had a few stops on our way around Skåne and met some very nice people and dogs.

When we arrived late in Malmö we were served a lovely dinner by Micke's dad and his wife. Thank you for that and for housing us all once again!

On Sunday morning me and Carina took Vegas and headed off to Denmark and a show in Ballerup. After an argument with our GPS Navigator (I now don't like anyone with the name Tom, or TomTom....) we arrived in Denmark well in time for the show.
It was 11 dogs in the openclass and of very high standard. Vegas ended up as forth with Excellent for judge Hans van den Berg, Netherlands.

We arrived back home late on Sunday after a long drive (and for me a long sleep...). We are happy with the weekend even though it would of course have felt even better if we had had a new Danish Champion with us in the car... ;o)

On????? Monday evening we went for the dogs weekly swim. Dando also got a treatment today for his sore back. He is now not allowed to run off his lead and he is getting a massage every other day. He isn't showing signs of a bad back but I feel like since he is obviously hurting under pressure I might as well try to see if it can be fixed.

Today after work I met up with Sanna, Smilla and Saffran and Peter and Java for some training at the dogclub. I did a little bit of agility and obedience before I had to get going to meet Carina for dinner.

Below are some mixed pictures from us as the dogclub, thank you Sanna for photographing!:

WILSON SUCCEEDS IN THE RING AGAIN!

Today it was time for Wilsons second show. This time the judge didn't scare him at all and he behaved really well. He is very plesant to show, especially moving! It's easy to forget that this little boy is only six months old when he stretches out around the ring! His movements is to die for!
He won the male class and????? also won over the Best Bitch (sister Roseridge Red Radiance) and Became Best of Breed. After that he won BIG-1 and went all the way to BIS-5!!!

His critique from judge Ann-Charlotte Ericsson:
"6 månader. Trevlig mentalitet. Vackert huvud med mörka vackra ögon. Välplacerade öron, saxbett. Bra bröstdjup. Välvinklad, bra ridge med snygga kronor. Bra rörelser. Välvisad."

Yaya was of course with us today aswell to get some environment training. She was fast asleep in the afternoon waiting for the finals. So, happy and tired dogs are sleeping here and there around my apartment at the moment!
Thanks to all our friends around the ring who made this long day very pleasent! Hope to see you all again soon!
(Thanks to Monica/Malena and Sonja for the pictures!)

I also want to congratulate Wilsons daddy "Sputnik" who became BOS with his first CC today in Sofiero! Way to go! Like father like son!

SWIMMING AGAIN AND WALKING IN THE SUN!

I am now back at work again which means busy busy! So that's why I have been bad with updates this week...

On Thursday before work I took the dogs to Hundpoolen again for Moa and Dando's second time swimming there. Dando was first out and he did well as always. He always swim with a lot of power and energy at first but quickly realizes that he can float around... so he mostly uses his front legs to get around the pool.
After him it was time for Moa, her second time ever. She does get a little bit anxious... not sure if she is supposed to like it or not...
She swims really well pushing those long legs in the water. Since she isn't so used to this yet she really uses all her energy which means I have to stop her after a few minutes to let her hang in my arms and rest for a couple of minutes.
Yaya of course kept an eye on us all that we did our job.. walking and playing around the pool...

And hmm... talking about sweetie Yaya... She has now 4 times broken herself out of her cage at work despite my attempts to stop her. And unfortunately she doesn't just sit nicely outside the cage when she has gotten out... No... this girl loves to eat. And if food isn't served when she wants it, she thinks it's ok to serve yourself... This means breaking into foodbags (unopen onces) and taking the lids of buckets with food or treat inside.
What she hasn't figured out yet is that this behaviour leads to NO MORE food for the rest of that 24 hours! So she now often looksmore like a Bullterrier than a Ridgeback... (Grrr...!!!)

Enough of that, I still love my little monster! After work today I stopped in Haga Parken and the sun was shining. The dogs played and I was happy! ????? Now two days off before another week of work...

SHOWTIME FOR ?????WILSON!

Today it was time for Wilson's first show. Unfortunately Johanna couldn't come along today because she was competing in jumping with her horse. So Carina joined me to help me take care of Yaya when I was in the ring with Wilson. It was also a great opportunity for some socialtraining for both youngsters.
Wilson finished as Best male and his sister Roseridge red Radiance was Best of Breed.

Here is his qritique from judge Bo Wiberg:
"Vackert, maskulint, välformat huvud. Bra öron, ögon, tänder och bett. Utmärkt vacker hals och rygglinje. Välvinklad fram och bak. Utmärkt benstomme. Utmärkta rörelser från sidan. Behöver mera självförtroende."

DEBUTANTS!

Today my two girls made different kind of debutes. In the morning I drove to Hundpoolen in Sundbyberg where Moa and Dando is going to start swimming for exercise.
Moa loves swimming outdoors but this was her first time in a pool. First both dogs where checked over by a physio before they got to swim. Moa did great and swam really well. But you could tell that she was a bit confused over this weird way of swimming... Just going around and not getting anywhere... and no waves... Hm... boring... and weird...
Dando had a few tensions that I will have tp massage a few times a week for a little while. Since he is used to swimming in a pool he got to stay in a little bit longer than Moa and he also did great.
Depending on how ?????much freetime I have during the fall my goal is to try to go there once a week to swim both of them.

After lunch we drove to the woods and now it was time for Yaya's debut in fieldtracking. I only brought a deershoof with me which I dragged on the ground for a few metres. She then got to follow the track which she did after a little hesitation. When she found the hoof she was so proud and didn't let go of it. Poor Dando and Moa got really jellous since I hadn't brought anything for them...
So after Yaya had played and chewed on it for a while I put it away and the dogs got to play while I enjoyed a relaxing time in the sun reading a book! That's vacation all right!

DOGGY TIME!

My vacation is soon coming to an end... I am counting every minute and I'm trying to enjoy what little I have left of it! It has been really nice to get some work done in the apartment and also finished some "schoolwork".
The dogs has gotten some extra time for daily walks in the woods and short training sessions with the clicker.

Today we met up with Peter and Java in Ursvik and went for a nice walk in the sun. The dogs played a lot and of course did their usual cow-imitations eating grass...
After our walk we stopped at the dogclub for a little bit of obedience. Since we where all tired we didn't stay to long, McDonalds was to tempting!

The dogs are now happy and saticified sleeping on the couch. Thanks for a great afternoon Peter, I will send you the bill for Yaya's scar... very expensive... ;o)

Below are a few pictures from our walk and training and in the bottom is also a few pictures of funny and cuddly Yaya resting on Moa on the couch (yes, ON Moa.. way more comfy than laying on your own...).
