ABOUT - THE KENNEL

When I bought my first Rhodesian Ridgeback in 2003 I didn't have that many big plans for my new "doglife".
I was looking for a dog that I could go for long walks with in the woods. As the years has gone by my interest for dogs and for the breed has increased and I have become active in different types of dogactivities.

When I first got my dog I heard a lot of negative comments about this breed and how they were unstable and you couldn't really work with them...
Of course my aim was to prove those people wrong.
For example I now have dogs with titles in both obedience and fieldtracking and my two adults are both mentality tested with great results.
Except for obedience and fieltracking I also show my dogs and we practice agility, lure coursing and peopletracking.

My first litter was born in the spring of 2009 and next litter is planned for summer 2010. I aim to breed versatile dogs that can be successfully used in different kind of dogactivities.

I think that there is a few things in the construction of the dogs that has gotten worse like the croups, fronts and to straight upperarms.
So breeding healthy dogs will be one of my big goals aswell as improving the dogs appearance and construction.

When deciding on a name for my kennel I wanted something that means something to me, not just something that will sound good. After going trough millions of pages online, looking for good names during my trip to South Africa I just gave up... Almost!
It hit me that I had what I wanted at home! Me and my dogs! So, the name Kadamo is more precisely KArin, DAndo and MOa!
