Kadamo Mästerskapen 2012

For the third year in a row I arranged Kadamo Mästerskapen in Bloodtracking in Årsunda, outside Sandviken. Just as previous years the weathergods was on our side! Rain as we drove up on Friday but as we arrived it cleared up and the rest of the weekend was spend in the sun!

This year we had a small group attending the trackingclass, from the C-litter it was Indra and Jenni, from the D-litter it was Souki with Marcus and Elin and Ebba with Isabel and Joakim.
On Friday afternoon when we arrived Indra got to do her aptitudetest, just to mention, her first time tracking with blood was the day before (she has only tracked the scent of deerhoof before)!
I had the opportunity to come along and it was really nice to see her work, very similar as her mum Yaya. Indra passed her test easily!

On Saturday most of the day was spend in the wood. Today we were joined by Charlie and Dayo from the A-litter, Meya from the B-litter and Haley from the C-litter. They all got to track and the youngerdogs got to learn more aswell as try their first bloodtracks.
In the evening we had a nice dinner all together and ended it with some boardgames! Very tired we all went to bed preparing for the big competition the next day!

On Sunday morning it was up early. At 9 am we were all heading for the woods with our judges, today 9 adult dogs and 3 puppies tracking.
I had my dogs entered aswell, thought it would be fun since it was such a long time ago that they got to track for "real". First out was Yaya and she was so excited! She did a good job and recieved a 1st prize. After her it was Moa's turn and she did well, more calm than Yaya. She had some trouble at one angle in the tracks which in the end resulted in her getting a 2nd prize.
Last out was Dando, my old man. He did a really good job, better than what I remember him doing all those years ago when we were competing a lot. But this time he didn't only follow the track, he also pointed out the chantarelles that he found! Sweet boy, that is the acitivity we have mostly been doing in the woods this summer and fall, so he didn't know that he was only tracking this time, not eating chantarelles!

Back at the place were we were staying we had a nice lunch in the now very strong winds. When everyne was back it was time to give out the results!
